Since then, I’d returned to Chipta another 6 times (and that’s not counting delivery during lockdown in Malaysia). Because this article is a culmination of multiple visits, I’ve featured the dishes I’ve enjoyed most over these visits. A greatest hits of sorts, if you like. I’ll admit it: this is one of those restaurants that holds a special place in my memory.
Chipta 11A’s brilliant fusion of local and international influences with the foundation built by edomae sushi is a unique experience I highly recommend.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the uniqueness of every dishes, the quality of the ingredients, impressive flavors produced by the team and the friendly and attentive service by the Chef. Chipta 11A was my first time having sushi with a fusion twist but certainly will not be the last. Looking forward to try out their new set of dishes.
Blue mackerel salted for 28mins, put in vinegar for another 30mins, nitsuke sauce, tuhau. My favourite among all the sushi I had. The texture and the flavour were very appealing, powered with wow-s. Very memorable. I must say it was very impressive. Tuhau, a special element from the ginger family, comes from the land of borneo was cooperating with sushi.
Chipta hasn’t been around long, but I am certain they will be going places. Given that there was limited variety of imported seafood due to the Movement Control Order as Chef Jack explained, he was still able to produce an impressive course. Kudos to him and his team. For RM300 per pax, I must say it was really value for money. Very satisfied with the quality ingredients, service and the super friendly and attentive Chef Jack. Chipta 11A was my first time having sushi with a fusion twist but it most certainly will not be the last.
Chipta 11A puts its own take to omakase dining, infusing local flavors from the area which is not quite fusion as well, making it unique in its own ways. They have a 5 course and 10 course menu. I picked the later which was a 3-hour dining experience with Chef Jack at the counter table. (tip: book the counter table if possible, that’s where all the magic happens!)
