Over the past few decades, we have tried many restaurants PJ has to offer – these include coffeeshops as well. Many popular ones have often been documented on other sites, so we wanted to highlight a few ‘hidden gems’ here instead. Some of these restaurants are well-known for a single dish, while others are recommended for their overall menu.
Santai Yamch’a is a modern casual dining restaurant located at 1 Utama Shopping Centre where family and friends can indulge in delicious halal savoury dimsum and a wide range of Malaysian delights in a relaxing and comfortable setting.

Overall, we think Staple Dough needs a bit more time to fine-tune its offerings and improve its dishes. We understand that Staple Dough is a fresh venture for its first-time restauranteurs, and appreciate the explanation and attentive service from the staff. We also liked that they were open to feedback, as they looked to improve their menu for the future.
Overall, we really enjoyed the dishes here! The Sarawak Laksa is definitely one of the best Halal ones in the Klang Valley, and we enjoyed the Mee Kolok/Sapi too!
Families and large dining parties can choose from Fortune Set (RM2,188 nett per table of 10 persons), Prosperity Set (RM2,388 nett per table of 10 persons) or Longevity Set (RM2,488 nett per table of 10 persons); available for lunch and dinner.
It is not without reason why Restoran Gembira is one of the more popular coffee shops in Taman Megah. Definitely do check out the stalls here if you’re looking for something delicious, with generous portions that are value for your money.
Verdict: Food was just decent, to be honest, nothing too outstanding but I’ll definitely come back for the Cendol. Perhaps for takeaway only because the poor service from inattentive and uncaring servers was kind of marred my dining experience here. ⋋_⋌

Overall, we enjoyed the Hot Chicken offerings here as the chicken was nicely seasoned with a lovely crispy batter.
