My boy, who is a big scallop fan, loved the seared scallops (he had two!) - plump and juicy, served with butter corn miso foam with bottarga and the crispiest spinach tempura. So delicious! The scallops were sweet tasting and fresh, making them perfect for a carpaccio dish. The thinly sliced raw scallops were topped with orange segments, wild rocket and yuzu dressing.

Gobo Upstairs however is smart enough not to confine the love celebrations to a single day, (which also happens to be too near to Chinese New Year, although admittedly not the whole world is Chinese), so their Valentine's menu is available from 7-14th, which means you can buy roses earlier to celebrate without paying an arm and a leg. The Menu is priced at RM550 nett per couple, including of two glasses of Prosecco, to set the mood. The Vegetarian menu is priced at RM480 nett per couple.

This year, the cupids at Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur will be presenting three different menus for Valentine's Day to celebrate the month of love. At Gobo Upstairs, lovebirds can choose either the Valentine's 6-course menu priced at RM550 nett per couple, or the Vegetarian 6-course menu at RM488 nett per couple. These menus which are available from 7 to 14 February 2018, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm and are inclusive of two glasses of Prosecco.

Of course, Gobo Upstairs has the benefit of a closeup KLCC view, and for a more aerial view, the Skybar upstairs, so really, this seems an ideal venue to spend NY Eve. Of course, it won't be cheap, but then again, it is a top notch hotel, and top notch venue, so as the Chinks would say, one ounce of money for one ounce of goods. (yutt fun cheen yutt fun for). So privileged to have been invited for a preview of the NY Eve menu, I reckon for the RM398 per person, the food you're getting is really good value.
