Goa by Hubba, located just off bustling Changkat Bukit Bintang, is an oasis of Sins & Spices, and begs one to experience exotic Goan Inspired Cocktails and New Indian Cuisine.

A rustic, indigenous atmosphere with blue tie-dyed drapes, floral centerpieces, mandala art, heightens that Goan adventure. Celebrity Chef Sapna Anand’s menu is a veritable feast for the senses!

Dishes like Goan Beef Cutlet, Allepey Grilled Fish, Kashmiri Lamb Chops and much more pay tribute to simple yet delicious Goan street food. Sapna has deftly put her touch to bring out the vibrancy of the many spices and herbs used in the food.

To complement this bold menu, its mixologists present cocktails resplendent of spices that will transport you to hot and humid Goa. Local Goan fare like the rasam, raita, lassi have been given Hubba twist and baptised with exotic names such as Spiked Mango Lassi, Masala Mantra, Ass Whupping Chai Masala. Familiar yet different, it’s a taste that’s hard to forget. The usual suspects are also available from the bar with the likes of beers, spirits and wines and champagnes at trade prices.

Goa by Hubba @ Lorong Ceylon

Our starter of smoky Goan Stuffed Squid (RM28) was quite a hit. Not only was the squid tender and well-seasoned with spices, the filling packed quite a punch in flavours. With just enough heat for flavours, it was the smokiness that gave the dish its yummy factor.

Goa by Hubba @ Invito Hotel Suites, Bukit Ceylon – Good food despite the minor let down

Set A : Caramelised Honey Chicken , 19.90 ringgit. II was amazed with the Bento they served me. For appetizer, I get some fruit salad ( done rojak style) – super delicious yawww and vegetable broth. For main meal, I get Yong Chow Fried Rice with Caramelized Honey Chicken on the side and for the perfect ending, a dessert of Red Ruby & Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk. All this for 20 ringgit? Total value for money, believe me. I enjoyed each and every dish that came with the Bento. Delicious.

Close your eyes and imagine Indian cuisine – sinful desserts laden in oversized pots, rich lentils simmered with spices served with a dollop of cream and butter, sprigs of cilantro added as an afterthought, flatbreads stacked high and glazed with butter. In huge quantity, served with a rustic touch. As time passed, there comes the enterprising chefs and restaurants, that are weaning the Indian palate away from fusion food to the delights of modern Indian cuisine.

Goa By Hubba, Inspired Indian Cuisine by an Inspired and Inspirational Chef

Whenever my dear friend, and one of my favourite chefs, Sapna Anand helms a culinary caper, I always know I am in for a treat. This time, the inimitable author of the NEW INDIAN KITCHEN cookbook (MPH Masterclass series) is collaborating with Hubba Hubba Ceylon to innovate and revamp their concept, with Goa By Hubba.

For the uninformed, Goa is a state in Western India with coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. I remember reading about Goa in our history books, coz supposedly St Francis Xavier was exhumed from Malacca and brought there....

Anyway, described as an OASIS OF SINS AND SPICES, Goa By Hubba also features, in addition to their fantastic food menu, a series of Goan Inspired Cocktails, which are deceptively mild, and rendered a few of the ladies in our midst with a nice tipsy buzz by the end of the night.

炸鱼配薯条本来就是一道经典美食,这里用了鲈鱼肉(seabass),裹上以 CONNOR’S Stout Porter 入味的炸粉炸得酥脆,一口下去几乎觉得自己要喝醉了!是啦我是用了夸张描述法,但当晚的佳肴中,味道最特出的就数这道佳肴了,可以尝到浓郁的 CONNOR’S Stout Porter 味道。一旁搭配的薯条也是厨房自制的,细切带皮的薯条不需要蘸酱吃也非常美味呢!
