There are plenty of options when it comes to the Taiwanese Pancake but we decided to stick to the original- merely Egg and Pancake Sheet served with the distinctive thick and sweet Soy Sauce. The flavor was straight-forward but the texture was good- soft with a slight chewiness, the accompanying sweet Soy Sauce worked as well
Morning Peeps Cafe, this is a cafe for early birds. Located at Jalan C. Y. Choy this cafe is serving dishes with Taiwanese infused. Dishes like wo tie, gua bao, braised pork rice and scallions pan cake are famous Taiwanese breakfast. The target for the dinners are mostly early peeps or cyclists. The food here are good with reasonable price. This place is one of the new punch card places that not to be missed.

For the uninitiated, ZQY serves Bian Rou- a type of dumpling originated from the Fujian province in China which uses Pork meat in the making of dumpling skin... the end product should carry a meatier flavor with a crunchy texture. ZQY's rendition was good and tummy-comforting, the dumplings were served in a clear soup... smooth skin with addictively crunchy filling.
We highly recommend giving the lamb claypot with medium spicy a go!
The Grilled Beef Noodles on the other hand, fared better than the Pho. The seasoning was spot on and with the tangy-spicy Vietnamese dipping sauce, the flavor-combo worked for us.
all the people serving us...not look like local Chinese....they are Thai people I believe.
Chicken Hot Pot 鸡公煲 (Rm 24.90) The small portion of Chicken Hot Pot was just nice enough for the 2 of us. There is a range of spiciness you can choose from. We picked the middle one and thought it was just alright (not that spicy for us). The seasoning was bold, in fact, a little too bold for us (we were then told that it would be better to enjoy with Rice). The Chicken on the other hand, was tender and well-cooked. Flavors were well-absorbed and they were quite generous with the condiments (Capsicum, Onions, Carrots etc).
Bee Heong Wooi coffee shop at the junction of Jalan C.Y. Choy and Gat Lebuh Presgrave appeals to Penangites for its several food stalls. One that has stood the test of time is the porridge stall.
