The famous Oon Kee Ipoh Chicken rice that is well known at Ipoh and a must-try boiled chicken and bean sprout are now available at Georgetown Penang. This is not their first branch, the first branch in Penang is located at Bukit Mertajam and Onn Kee's menu features all-time favorites which is the Blanched Chicken, Salted Chicken, and Ginger Chicken. Not to be missed out is their Bean Sprout imported fresh daily from Ipoh. Besides that, the coffee served here is also top class from Ipoh, the Chang Jiang Coffee.
The Chicken Mayo (RM 8.50) we had has nice and crisp bread texture, and the sandwich filling is fairly balanced with mayonnaise and chicken meats. It was simple and enjoyable.
You can pick to have either thin or thick for the fried noodles too. Comparing to the conventional noodles, the fried noodles are crispier and exhibit a more distinctive texture. Fried noodles are not something that get offered in traditional wantan noodle store so it is good to try it here.
We had the Ginger Chicken Meat (RM 16 - 1/4 portion) and it was a great choice but a stronger ginger taste will make the entire dish shines even more. Both Hor Fun or Oil Rice also make a great matching to the chicken meats.
The Ipoh Hor Fun was equally delicious... at least they were legit Ipoh Hor Fun in lieu of Penang Koay Teow. The broth was thick and rich, with bold meaty flavors. A pity that the Bean Sprouts were not as plump and juicy as those found in Ipoh.
I'd say if Ipoh Onn Kee is to stick around, either concentrate on doing well on its Chicken offering or buck-up in improving the non-chicken recipes. Or it woudn't surive 嘴叼的槟城人!
Albeit simple, Potters Place's Streaky Beef Sandwich was a good afternoon snack. We thought we would not like the ersatz Toasts but it turned out to be alright. They were thin and crisp... lightly spread with Butter and Mayonnaise... sandwiching Lettuce, Tomatoes and Beef Bacon
Urban Spice Cafe is often overshadowed by the neighboring mural paints and Poke Stops at the tourist-centric Armenian-Aceh Street zone or rather, the cafe remains low-key despite of its opening in early 2016. The cafe is housed in a 8 decade-old heritage house; the exterior looks dull and uninspiring but the interior suggests otherwise. The interior is chic yet, preserving the heritage elements. Minimal renovation was done to the heritage building, probably some touches to refine the period pieces. On the menu, it challenges its competitors with the usual cafe fare- All Day Breakfast, Pasta dishes and locals delights but we were surprised that it does not receive the same kind of attention that most cafes (with similar menus) do; that does not mean that Urban Spice Cafe isn't worth the visit nevertheless. The place is most cozy and comfortable to have a casual meal with friends or family.

15/05/2013 Besides the food and the street arts, we had also visited quite a number of interesting places. One of the places that I strongly recommend is Ben's Vintage Toy Museum. The admission is RM6 for adult. It is really worth and eye widening. Dear enjoys this place the most! It brought back lots of…
