Nothing overly exciting but basic, staple home-cooked dishes. The seasoning was minimal and all of the dishes were nicely cooked (none of them were disappointing), a pretty safe option for those looking a dine-out spot (especially for those on vegetarian diet).
Pinxin also does a range of vegan sauces and condiments. We actually intended to head back to pick some of these up, but ran out of time. Never mind; we’ll definitely go back when we are next allowed to travel to Penang.
Those fared well were the Thai-styled Grilled Pork Meat and Cha Omh. The former one had a tender-meaty texture with a delightful smokiness to it.
The only thing that rescue the night was Moo Ping (RM 3 / piece, min 2 pieces) as the pork skewers were nicely grilled with a nice char scent.
While savories are the focus, the menu also serves warm sweet Chinese tongsui, with choices of red bean soup and peanut soup.
For Western dish, look no further for Cashew Basil Pesto Spaghetti (RM 18). The chef prepare the al-dente angel hair spaghetti noodles coated with a house blend of Pesto sauces, then topped with cashew basil. It induces a nice and moderate herby scent that had the creaminess elevated with the cashew nuts. It is a solid evidence that spaghetti can be prepared in vegan way without compromising its taste.
Blooms is a Pink Theme concept cafe with simple decoration which look classy and fully loaded with Pink, haha !
We had their Blue Moon and thought that the concoction was rather refreshing... the sweetness was perfectly balanced as well while the Cheese foam introduced a sleek creaminess and saltiness; the overall flavor-combination was quite good, though I would reconsider if I am willing to pay Rm 18 for that again
It is a lovely place with many seating places to choose from. The environment is nice and comfortable.
We tried Dry AhMa Pan Mee and Curry AhMa Pan Mee, and absolutely loved its unique noodle texture - solid yet al-dente. We personally enjoyed the dried version due to the perfectly balance seasoning that yields an aromatic flavour - not too heavy nor too light.
