I seldom take duck confit, did today & it was better than most..skin crispy and meat was moist and tender and tasty.
The quality of the dishes at The Masses offers good value for its accessible prices.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler I'm curious about the rest of the menu now, but I'm not sure how quickly I'll come back given that the bill here can add up after a number of plates and drinks.

The Uni and Crab Ochazuke with ikura, caviar, deep sea crab, blue swimmer crab, sea grapes, sakura ebi etc. contained all sorts of seafood flavours – saltiness and creaminess. Luxurious yet light, and satisfying bowl.
Opened by ex-Saveur owner Dylan, The Masses has always been on my radar, but for some reason I kept putting off visiting. With circuit breaker measures leaving me wanting for more variety in my lunch options, I decided to #treatmyself and try their selection of French cuisine with Asian influences!...
It was a pleasant lunch experience and quite unintentionally, this reminded me of Saveur in their starting phase when they aimed to serve good food at affordable prices to the masses.
Just on the rants alone, we are not too excited to return. And it doesn’t help that the food did not impress.
A very good cup of flat white. Read somewhere that Candour imported their beans from Market Lane Coffee in Melbourne! I really love their mint green cups too, so pretty.
This is a place that I would recommend all my friends to come if they're looking for quality, casual dining in the convenience of town.
The food is so delicious because in every dish, there are always contrasting textures and flavors. It’s very smart food design here; there are balance, beauty, and great flavors in each dish.
What I would order? Definitely the C&C Pasta again, Organic Watercress Salad and Grilled Avocado too and end my meal with the Dee-Fried Camembert.
There’s just so much magic in this place, a deep charm in the dishes (and Dylan himself, too), that makes me yearn to come back for more.
Ironically, if they want to reach out to the larger audience, they may need to introduce some dishes that would better gel with, the masses.
