I ordered my meal from the Light Bites section and the most suitable item was Chicken Karaage. It's not exactly ideal though since fried chicken is always coated with flour. The chicken was fried to perfection, the batter was light and crispy and the chicken was moist and flavorful. The crispy fried kaffir lime leaves added another dimension to the flavor and aroma.
At first mum thought of having The Really Big Breakfast that she always sees on my blog. But she changed her mind because it was late in the day and she wanted to make sure that she had stomach space for dinner. So mum copied my order and had the Grilled Chicken Salad.
I went to The Red Kettle and had the Pomegranate Smoked Salmon Salad. It was a very pretty salad, so colorful! This salad contains smoked salmon, pomegranate, quinoa, avocado, chickpeas, lava egg, pickled blueberries, almonds, chia seeds, orange, grilled broccoli, mesclun greens and ponzu dressing. I also noted ulam raja leaves. The ponzu dressing - very sorry, I did not like it. It was so so sweet. So I used very little of it. And the smoked salmon was very very salty, even when eaten with the other ingredients. So no more of this salad for me, I will stick to the Grilled Chicken Salad.
My brother tried the Really Big Breakfast for the very first time. This breakfast is now served on a huge stoneware plate which I think is much preferable to how it was served previously, on a wooden cutting board.
In fact it was gorgeous, cooked medium rare and it was delicious! It was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the sauce was divine. I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this steak was.
It was my 2MAD day and I was hungry. I needed to eat something substantial and what better to eat than Red Kettle's Really Big Breakfast.
The Latte was so good! Muah! The Porkie Eggie Benedict was nyums!
I loved the French Toast and somehow today it was not sprinkled with cinnamon. I prefer it that way, no cinnamon.
I'll say this is better than what I had in 2018 and 2021 in terms of taste. The presentation is similar.
Especially when you have a nice slice of carrot cake to go with it. While there's no coffee art, the drink speaks for itself. I want to say it's full bodied, not bitter but you'd see right through my pretentious self 😂 Lets just say that the coffee and cake is like a marriage made in heaven. One offsets the other's flaw.
Apparently Red Kettle is famous for their pork chop, but I guess none of us was in the mood for so much of pork lmao so we opted for other items on their menu. The bestie obviously couldn't give up on pork so she settled for Cajun Prawn Pork Burger - chargrilled cajun prawns & handmade pork patty, homemade pork bacon, cheddar cheese, honey mustard, tomato salsa, salad & fries. So sinful but so good! Do note that this dish is slightly spicy though.
Pan Fried Seabass at MYR 28.90+ (MYR 31.79 nett). My friend ordered Sambal Tumis Seabass with Rice at the same price. For both dishes, the seabass steaks are prepared in the same way - pan fried. We saw these seabass dishes in the menu and decided to have lunch at this eatery. The mashed potatoes is creamy and the roasted vegetables - broccoli, cauliflower, baby tomatoes, sugar snap peas and brinjals are tasty. The skin of the seabass is pan fried till very crispy.
总算没有让我失望的一家餐厅食物水准不错分量十足价钱略高不是常常吃还可以接受的
Carbonara was superb. I changed my pasta to Angel Hair Pasta; it’s my all-time favourite pasta. Al-dente pasta cooked in a creamy sauce and topped with Onsen Egg. Yum!! The egg adds an additional creamy texture to the pasta and how I wished to have more creamy sauce. I should have requested for it while ordering.
Overall, yes, the food is amazing!
This is the Kettle Salad for us to share. It had greens, roasted tomatoes, croutons, cranberries, walnuts and a hard boiled egg. I am not sure what dressing was used, but I tasted red wine vinegar. It was a good salad. But definitely not enough to make a main meal.
