The highlight of the day was the popular Berkshire Ribs, loved by diners. Extremely tender and juicy, roasted to perfection, the taste of the Berkshire's ribs took centre stage with its nicely charred thick chunk of meat, providing a toothsome bite. A must-try dish for all pork-lovers!
One must try is the Roasted Crackling Pork Belly. The Pork Belly is perfectly an indulgence where the meat comes simply juicy with the cracking skin. They are accompanied with the honey mustard sauce. They are indeed impressive!
This has got to be my favourite (as hinted earlier, hehe) for it somehow reminds me of the delish pulled pork which is not so commonly served nowadays. I like the fact that the layer of croquette is crisply done just nice, not so thick that it complements the braised Berkshire’s meat well and helps to bring up its flavour instead. It is also very moist and tender, packed with robust tang that gets me hooked on to it spoon after spoon. Indeed very well done!
Verdict: It’s certainly a nice gesture to use local produces to help local agricultural sector which has been facing quite an impact since the MCO period. Bravo, Passione Ristorante Italiano! The set lunch menu felt value for money and as far as the food was concerned, it was a satisfying lunch with hearty Italian dishes set in a beautiful environment with excellent service!
Please dun leave without trying their delicious wood-fired oven-baked pizza. Our Pizza Carbonara came to us that night overflowing or overloaded with so many slices of bacon. The crust was crispy on the outside and yet chewy on the inside. Good stuff you must not miss!
While for those that love fish, can order the second main which is the Branzino Alla Griglia - Grilled Marinated Seabass Fillet.
Verdict: For the price of only RM58.00++, this one-of-its-kind antipasti buffet indeed a weekend indulgence that should not be missed. Food wise, we appreciated chef’s labour of love of making most of the dishes from scratch. Limited to 40 diners per session, this ensure that everyone can enjoy the food in take-it-slow Italian style.
My favourite dish of the day : Seafood Linguine! This homemade linguine pasta was freshly hand made to order by Chef Stefano in the kitchen. This linguine pasta is cooked to perfection, the right percentage of softness (I do not like too stiff pasta as I will consider it under cook). Oh the seafood, so much variety in here: mussels, fresh clams, shrimps, baby cuttlefish, squid and scallop. All this are infused together and served with chilli garlic oil. I was actually not a fan of pastas, but this one is heavenly indeed. Highly recommended!
Hubby's favourite dish of the afternoon is the Rigatoni al ragu alla napoletana (RM34), short tube pasta with sausage and pork ribs stewed in tomato pulp sauce; so tender, they're falling off the bone. Wonderfully vibrant and full of flavour.
很出乎意料的是这里的提拉米苏没有带着浓厚的咖啡味,反而却多了少许的巧克力的味道,而且口感细滑。
The name of the dish in Italian is quite a mouthful - Rolle' Di Pollo Alla Paprika Con Bouquet Di Verdure but basically it's a baked chicken dish of rolled chicken breast dumpling in red paprika stuffed with honey ham, red capsicum and heavenly smoked cheese. Comes served with ratatouille and broccoli on the side. This is another winner in its own right. The chicken was flavourful, juicy and tender and I suspect that chef must have cooked it sous-vide style before grilling it in the oven for the light crisp on the outside. The savoury fillings of honey ham and smoked cheese enhanced the taste and texture making this a very delectable dish indeed.
Verdict: It was a satiated Italian lunch and definitely worth the drive! No hesitation in recommending this place!
This was followed by the Antipasto di mare, a refreshing seafood salad of octopus, squid, prawn, orange segments and fennel. We especially loved the grilled octopus, with a delicious char and lovely, smoky aroma.
Review Passione Ristorante Italiano: Real, authentic, honest Italian food and wine. A jaw-dropping range of pizzas and pasta, with slow-cooked meats your stomach will thank you for.
Our meal was made heartier with Chef Stefano’s signature Pork Knuckle. The chunky meat had been marinated and braised in white wine and secret seasonings with golden roasted potatoes to mop up the house gravy sauce. Stinco de Maiale Arrosto (RM68) – Pork knuckle in white wine
Next is parmigiana di Melanzane (RM 25). Layers of sliced eggplant cooked in a small pot till golden brown, topped with tomato sauce, mozarella, basil and grana padano cheese. Yummy! The mozarella cheese taste meaty (as they put lots of it), and pair well with the eggplant.
For pork lover, never miss out their Rosticana Di Maile Brasato Al Vino Rosso (RM 52) . The pork ribs are perfectly braised with the red wine sauce till perfection and it is sides with the mixed capsicums and roasted potatoes. Each mouthful comes divinely good bringing you with the melts in the mouth sensation.
