My first encounter with Kai Duck restaurant was during the pandemic when I realized the huge lunch crowd waiting for entry either for East Ocean Restaurant or Kai Duck.
Nice and exquisite food. The Peking duck was superb – fatty, crispy, fragrant and juicy.
Was quite taken in by their braised pork knuckle in fermented bean curd sauce.
All in all, I must say that these dishes that we’ve tried were really beyond expectations, hats off to Chef Fung & his crew for curating & putting together such delicious creations.
Hopefully we’ll see more Kai Ducks around the island!
Noticed that the dishes that came after the soup and small bites were all robustly flavoured and generally great with steamed rice.
We loved the dining experience at Kai Duck, with its casual ambience, efficient service, and delicious food.
Overall, kudos to Chef Fung in curating the creative dishes based on Peking Duck and elevating the traditional Cantonese Dishes.
All in all, the relaxed (and rather spacious) ambience coupled with a variety of innovative Cantonese dishes makes Kai Duck a place to bring your parents/family for a satisfying meal in town.
Expect delicious contemporary Cantonese cuisine that appeals to millennial as well as baby boomers.
Prices are reasonable at Kai Duck by Orchard Road standards, and I enjoy most of the dishes here.
Kai Duck is a new restaurant that opened last week at Takashimaya Shopping Centre in Ngee Ann City Singapore. It is run by the folks behind Kai Garden in Marina Square (you can read about our visit here). No prizes for guessing what is on the menu at Kai Duck restaurant. It is duck season… and dim sum as well.
