Note - limited seat indoors (7 tables) and outdoors (3 tables + 4 counter seats) - more a coffee place with limited cakes & pastries - came on Sun, 2.30pm and got an outdoor table but later moved to indoor table - nice place to chill on a hot Sunday afternoon
虽然这里不是专业的烘焙店,也没有自制的面包西点,但是氛围不错。
Butter + Beans at Seventeen offers a quite place for coffee all-day-long with cakes, pastries, and sandwiches to go along with a cuppa.
Despite the small space the cafe is pretty cozy. There's varieties of breads, pastries and cakes on display but we didn't order any since we were there to try out their coffee.

We had the Blueberry danish (RM 5), a buttery, fragrant danish with creamy custard and sweet blueberries. I love the custard as it give a nice moisture and sweetness to the danish. Blueberries were quite unnoticeable behind the custard and truthfully, with or without them, it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Although it's nice but slightly on the pricier side.
Be warned: this danish is delicious! But difficult to share. I tried to cut them into 4 pieces but the danish was not big enough and slightly hard at the corners as well so this attempt caused a mess! I think you must finish this danish alone in 2 wholesome bites to have the best satisfaction! RM5/piece.
I asked for a cute coffee art, in return I received an adorable bear and a beautiful peacock, thumbs up for the barista on latte art. Coffee was house blend I reckon, medium bodied with the correct temperature, I had Latte while my friend had Piccolo. We sat in the café with smoothing background music exchanged my Taiwan experiences and we went off. It’s a great place for a quick coffee fix with a bite or two, but not to linger any longer due to its limited seats.
The bakery here is pretty decent, I like my croissant but the drink not at all. The croissant is not enough to make me want to come back to this shoddy place. I don't like how they charge RM 1 per piece for butter alone, to me it's ridiculous. Boycott!
We didn’t stay there for long, for the weather was hot and we were sitting outdoor. Everything was good there. Just one downside: The shop is really small and can barely occupy more than 10 pax for indoor. With such a good business, perhaps the owner should consider to expand the shop into a more spacious one? =)
#7 Delicious danishes & pastries! Loved all the danishes & croissant! Very crispy outer crust enclosing the soft buttery inner layer. The custards, fruits and flavours of the toppings were very memorable too. As for the cake & peach cobbler, we shall give them a miss next round as we find them a bit too dry to our liking.
Do you know that all bread and pastries are freshly made on site by the house pastry chef? We ordered quite a huge varieties to try – Croissant, Plain Au Valrhona, Apricot Danish, Blueberry Danish, Raspberry Tart, Peach Cobbler. Pastries price ranges from RM 4 to RM 10. Even the Salmon Quiche and Mushroom & Ham Quiche (Rm 10) were good – with a creamy texture and full flavor. We gave the birthday girl a little swet treat – Raspberry Orchid Cake (Rm 10) but it was really dry and flour-ly.
I accidentally deleted on what I had for that time as I order a Latte @ RM 9 and Mushroom Quiche @ RM 10. Quiche is rather nice and simple, definitely fresh and one of a good ones that I have come so far, and to pair along with my coffee is just a lazy coffee break that I am enjoying. -= Jeng Jeng Jeng =- Coffee Rating 6.5/10, pretty okay -Stamped-
We started off with coffee, of course. Flat white (Rm 9) and cappuccino (Rm 9), prettily done with latter art. The talented baristas can draw everything on your coffee, the leaf, the cartoon, and even wordings. The baked pastries are pretty good. We love the Croissant, Apricot Danish and Blueberry Danish; but not the Peach Cobbler (Rm 3). Pastries are priced at Rm 5 and above; plain croissant comes cheaper; at about Rm 4. Quiche (Rm 10) – the salmon and mushrooms & hams were surprisingly good. Brimmed with lots of ingredients and very well seasoned. Last but not least, a piece of Raspberry Orchid Cake (Rm 10) to end the meal; it was dry and too floury to our liking.
Butter + Beans At Seventeen sits is definitely worth a visit. Coffee is done right, prices are decent and they serve fabulous pastries! 🙂
