Our meal for five came up to about RM130 including drinks, which I felt was reasonable considering the venison dish. The highlight, for me, was the Claypot Lou Shee Fun. They are also famous for their Sang Har Mee (fresh water prawn noodles), which unfortunately we did not manage to try on this visit.
Overall, I had a happy experience at the restaurant when we meet again after 3 months for her birthday! As for the restaurant, they do have the quality to serve delicious food. It is just the luffa which they ordered on that day might not be in good quality. Hope they will improve again.
1. The food quality less tasty when the restaurant has many patrons. Maybe the kitchen is too overwhelmed with all the orders. 2. Claypot Lor Shu Fun is a must to order; another dish is optional.
We like ALL the signature dishes here! But sometimes, we do wish that the chef would go easy on the salt.
I know Seri Kembangan is extremely far away (for me, at least) but if you're in the area, I highly recommend you drop by Yoke Heng and try their Loh Shu Fun and Stir-Fried Clams - they definitely don't disappoint!!
The freshness of prawns truly brought out and add flavour to the gravy. The soaked 'wan tan mee' noodles in the gravy was delicious- much could be said to the fried, still crispy ones too. Priciest dish on the table but satisfying.
The lou shue fun came in a claypot ( yeah la..if it came on a hotplate- they would call it hotplate lou shue fun..duh !) , starchy looking gravy flood the claypot. I scooped some into the smaller bowls that they provided and took a slurp…Oh la la… …the gravy was very tasty -rich and sweet in a seafood kinda flavour ( like sharkfin soup) and weren’t as starchy as they look, it was kinda light really ( plus point), slices of mushroom, spring onions and minced meat shared the pot with the lou shue fun, the noodles had a nice texture. The best part was the bits of deep fried dried prawns in the pot, these were crunchy and very fragrant which brought the enjoyment of the noodles up another notch with every bite. The sambal was not bad too. I like I like I like..
Butte milk mantis prawns. The egg flower tasted nice, and mantis prawns is fresh and soft
This place is well known by its Claypot Loh Shue Fun...What so nice is that the gravy is like "wattan hor" but this is thicker and creamier. Besides, their aluminium foil pork rib and lala is also among their specialties
Unlike other claypot Lou Shu Fan which is usually very dry and dark in color, this has white-yellowish gravy instead. It is a very popular place for lunch among those working in TPM (Technology Park Malaysia) and Astro Bukit Jalil. But don’t worry, it opens at night as well because I had this for dinner.
We have tried their dishes here as well which tasted generally good and reasonabily priced too. I knew our family did enjoyed the dishes. One of the favourite that I tend to see appearing on the tables is this Yim For Kuat or was it For Yim Kuat, not sure the translation... but its sweetish sticky pork ribs that came wrapped in aluminium foil. Quite similar to mutt chup (honey coated). The ribs are tender and the sweetness is not over cloying.
