What do We Like about Xiao by Crustz, SS 2? -The aesthetically designed interior with live plant and wooden furniture -The uniquely crafted pastries and cakes
Miso, 17 ringgit This was yummmmmm 🙂 Having Miso was like having a Magnum ice cream. There is the usual Paddle Pop, Cornetto and then … there is Magnum. Yea, this was like having a Magnum.
So there you go, finally I fixed my mind on La Vie En Rose (MYR 17) despite I really wish to have another morsel along, but then worried can’t finish it as the tummy had just been carbo-loaded 5 minutes ago. A dainty rhapsody composed on the notes of lychee, raspberry rose chantilly, pastry cream, raspberry jam and sable breton. Indeed very catchy and boldly alluring especially with that red petal crowning on top and pate a choux dough filled up with velvet custard.
This is recommended by the girl at the counter if you like something fruity sweet end. This is Fortune Cat @ RM 18. Choux, lychee jelly, strawberry compote.
Le Jasmine (RM16) My personal favourite among all as this is one of the lightest of all.
这里很适合和姐妹淘来噢,而且座位都很特别,我们好喜欢!有私人空间之余还可以和美美的背景拍照~~ 温馨提醒:这里位子非常有限,记得早点来噢!
Inspired by a young pastry chef with a pure passion for her craft. Beautifully gorgeous and scrumptious pastries, cakes, chocolates, macaroons, mini desserts and so forth could be found here! Insta-worthy and adorable!
Verdict: Very pretty French-inspired desserts. I enjoyed the La Vie En Rose best.
However, you might need to wait for your seats as they don’t cater too many seatings. Just a bigger table near their counter and a few small tables by the window.
Pa-Macha (Rm 12) Pate a Choux, Green Tea Crème Diplomat, Passion Fruit Jelly Vibrant velvety aromatic green tea cream diplomat beautifully assembled on the fluffy choux pastry. What I love most is the passion fruit jelly that hidden inside the choux, tangy and adventuring. Never know the light pastry cream which is richly flavoured with green tea went so well with the tangy sourish passion fruit jelly. Perhaps one may find it too sourish, but I am pretty amazed with this combination.
Personally, we still prefer French inspired desserts from Les deux Garcons. But for Xiao by Crustz, the cafe serves as a good place for intimate gathering with close friends, slicing down colourful, decent cakes. Coffee doesn’t take the limelight here, but they humbly serves French press, tea, yuzu fizz, lemon fizz for beverage. No GST currently. Service is great, but can be short-handed due to overwhelming response from the public on this new, potential cafe.
