We believe Table & Apron’s enduring qualities will ensure its longevity in the KL dining scene. After almost ten years, the food remains impeccable, and the service is still as enthusiastic and earnest as ever.
I'm stoked to savour my favourite Ulam Rice (RM38) from Table & Apron (T&A) restaurant after a 2-year hiatus.
While their specials and a la carte menu may see exciting options during holidays, the set menu has classic favorites. You can eat like a king, delighting over the unique combinations. Each set comes with spicy ginger tea and a choice of a delicious daily soup or salad. Only available Tuesday to Friday at lunchtime, show up early and dig in! In particular, the soft bone pork stew is a favorite. Served with garlic rice, glazed carrots, and a soy sauce egg it’s a sensory delight. Just…where to begin on this delectable dish?!
Food is tasty, especially the juicy fried chicken.
Overall, this establishment is a place I highly recommend and is a popular date night and family spot.
9/10. Price-wise, quality-wise, ambience-wise, service-wise slightly shy of those Michelin Star restaurants out there (not to mention this will actually fill up your tummies), but with a very homely and relaxing vibe to the place as a whole. Love the food and ambience, will definitely be back here with family at one point or another.
A small throwback to February when we went to Yik’s favourite place: Table & Apron. I think it’s largely an Australian-inspired restaurant but I may be wrong.
Peel the thin layer of crisp and crackling fried skin to reveal the glossy plump white meat beneath that’s still smoking with heat. Served with a side of classic Lingham chilli sauce, Table & Apron’s signature dish experience is complete. Having tried it myself, I can concur that their classic fried chicken has a delightful just salty enough flavour to it, courtesy of the fragrant crisp herbs it is served with. It’s not oily and is flavourful down to the bone. You can’t ask more of a fried chicken. As an avid fan of the dish, I take my fried chicken very seriously.
PORK RIBS (HALF RM30/ FULL RM56) Sanbanto pork, Kicap Manis Glaze The flesh was tender and juicy, and it was a joy to eat. We adore how the moisture was retained in the flesh, makes detaching the flesh from the bones an easy task. We also especially love the taste with a drizzle of the lime juice. It balances out the sweet caramelized coating of the flesh. Normally ribs can get a little cloying for me due to its high fats content, but I seemed to be enjoying this quite a lot, probably due to its sour-y appetising taste from the lime juice.
#RawChefYin visits Table & Apron in Damansara Kim, Malaysia! We wanted to try something different from the usual vegan restaurants so I messaged Table & Apron...
Yes, I would. I liked the place, the people and minus the fried chicken, everything else was good. So, yes, I am definitely heading back there again.
