I like the Hakka noodles, nice texture and slightly stronger taste. Wanton Noodle is nice too, and the glazed BBQ pork is pretty good. Nothing is cheap nowadays.
Toast & Roast, as the name proclaimed the “the Real CharSiew” . . . well, totally agreed and hands down their “char siew” is impeccable delicious, literally melt in your mouth.
TnR by Sean & Angie serves one of the best char siew in PJ. They are always nicely charred with lovely caramelisation.
TNR by Sean & Angie in SS2 Petaling Jaya is definitely worth the visit for the Hakka noodles and their signature char siew. We like their char siew but in moderate level but if you do have comments on their food, please comment and let us know and I would love to hear about it. Thanks for reading.
The Chicken and Charsiew rice was tasty. The pork had a half meat, half fats ratio. The dish comes with a side of chili paste and sweet, thick black sauce which was da bomb. It made everything taste even better. I couldn’t get enough of it, honestly. I kept requesting for more. The chicken was nice and tender. I specifically requested for breast meat which meat that I was served juicy, meaty pieces of chicken. Overall, a tasty dish.
overall, not the combinations not bad at all. Unfortunately, no more roasted park at 4:30pm; maybe will sample that next time!
One of the most popular char siew in Kuala Lumpur/ Petaling Jaya.
Verdict: This definitely cements its place on my list of best Char Siew! I’ve read some reviews mentioned about their Mee Siam was worth trying too, next time perhaps, very soon I believe \(^ω^\)
Their Hakka Noodles is quite famous and Time Out has also listed it as one of the best Hakka Noodles in the city. The minced meat was good and the flavours were just right. They had also added some fried lard and that definitely did boost the taste. My rating for this shall be 8/10.
Still a good place for awesome char siew that's sticky sweet and lusciously tender with either wantan mee or Hakka noodles. And for snacks, it'd be the fried fish roll and the Thai-style meehoon. That's it! :)
This new eatery is located in SS2 near Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar eatery.
I've had the pleasure of eating both the 'half fat half lean' and the 'less fat' cuts of char siew (at both places) and both cuts are equally delicious. So, make sure you specify the cut you want for maximum enjoyment. There's nothing much to complain really but, if I were to nitpick, I wish they would dial down a bit on the oiliness in their wantan mee and char siew sauce. If you want the original taste of Toast & Roast, make sure you seek out the new my Toast n Roast...and not the previous place! ^_*
All I know is – I love char siew and ‘My Toast N Roast’ in Chow Yang SS2 serves the same tasty char siew that I remembered. Parking is easier here, the outlet brighter and more comfortable to dine in so this is where I’ll be when I need my char siew fix!
