Yes. Restoran Ya Wang’s longstanding history is a testament to its food, especially the Roasted Duck with Angelica Herb! Over the decades, countless Singaporean families have crossed the causeway just to have a taste of the delicious roasted duck, and you shouldn’t miss it too.

Next up would be the signature herbal roasted duck for which we were served the most expensive part; the drumstick! Obviously the highlight, the meat was juicy and succulent although the skin could be crispier and the taste of herb, in my opinion, wasn't strong enough. I guess the ones with angelica herb or ten wonder herbs would be better but they were only available for order as one whole duck!

Their signature herbal roast duck had left me a very deep impression by that unique taste of scrumptiousness!

A lot of customers were having their roast duck noodle (7rm). So as typical Singaporeans, we also had to try. The noodles were QQ but the sauce was your run-of-the-mill soya sauce concoction. Serving was on the small side, I think one person could eat like two of these plates.

On the other hand, the roast pork was rather fatty and the skin wasn’t crispy like the ones we have in Singapore. Both meats were decent tasting but not impressive enough for me to come all the way here for it.

I think just order this Herbal duck will do as the other dishes was just average or below par. Only the herbal duck was worth the time and money!

All in all, Restoran Ya Wang proved to be a good place for their well-known roasted duck, however, as for the "king of ducks" title, I am pretty sure that I can find better places out there in both Malaysia and Singapore. As expected, the prices are not that cheap, after all, the costs are jacked up by the steady streams of Singaporean visitors.

It turned out that Ya Wang's tender duck meat was tasty and nice to chew on, though I remained unconverted. Nevertheless, this Ya Wang 鸭皇 style has its own loyal following, judging by the steady stream of customers that kept flowing in.

It didn’t take long when we started to feast with the Char Siew (Caramelized Pork) and Siew Yuk (Roast Pork). Well, the Char Siew was good but it was nothing close to the good ones in Kuala Lumpur. It was ordinary. The Siew Yuk tasted better.
