Overall, we really enjoyed the dishes here! The Sarawak Laksa is definitely one of the best Halal ones in the Klang Valley, and we enjoyed the Mee Kolok/Sapi too!

Anyway, compared with Aunty Lan at Shah Alam, this broth was lighter. I think aroma- and flavour-wise Shah Alam was better. But then to each their own preference. The prawns here were fresher. The prawny taste and smell were there. Shah Alam prawns were flatter in taste. Ambiance was better and there are the aircon and cafe environment.

Another thing I want to talk about is their Teh C Peng Special. It was super duper legit! At first sip, I felt as though I was sitting in any of the many food courts and Kopitiams in Kuching, drinking on a refreshing glass of Sarawak's iconic three layer ice tea. While a lot of places often serve up a gula-melaka version of three layer ice tea, SALTed got the caramalised taste and texture on point with their brown sugar.

We love the Sarawak laksa here. Has a great taste. Not too pedas, a kick of a flavour and a great balance with a Sarawak Laksa paste recipe they had made specially for them. The Shredded chicken and prawn toppings make it even more delicious. Remember to squeeze in the limau nipis and stir in the sambal paste into your laksa broth for that extra dang! kick. Sofya also gets her prawns fresh from the udang sellers in Kuala Selangor so you know that your laksa is fresh! No wonder.

I went for the “special” and happy to report that the dish definitely did not disappoint. The broth was thick and flavorful, and the seafood perfectly compliments the meehun and all other ingredients. I also enjoyed the pretty hot sambal as well. Will definitely put this in place in my list of recommendations (which I need to create, I think)

Ambiance: 6/10 Price: 6/10 Food: 6.5/10 (halal) Verdict: The Sarawak Laksa is possibly the closest you’d get to the real deal in Sarawak! ;)

Kolok Mee Indulge this delicious kolok mee infused with homemade special sauce. It was tasty and aromatic, as greasy as the original should be.

For me, this kolo mee (RM 7.50) with chicken and mushrooms was tasty, aromatic and well, as greasy as the original should be. The portion is huge, the noodles exactly like the original in Kuching and there were plenty of chicken meat so I was really happy with my lunch.

Mee Jawa Not an ordinary mee jawa you have at most of the stalls/restaurant, the version by SALTed is they added curry paste which turns out surprisingly good, fragrant and the twist taste between the natural sweetness of sweet potato and curry. There are two types of complimentary sides to be chosen from, beef or chicken, hard boiled egg, tauhu and garnished with chili and cilantro.
