Salted Egg Yolk Burger

My special salted egg yolk beef burger (MYR 21.80 nett). I enjoyed eating this burger although the strong taste of beef does compete with the strong taste of the salted egg yolk for my attention. This salted egg yolk sauce is different from those in Lao Sar Bao. I believe some curry powder has been added to it to make it stand out as a savoury sauce instead of being on the sweet side.

I finally tried myBurgerLab after 5 years of telling myself “lets go there one day”. The main reason I skipped myBurgerLab when they first opened was because of the queue to get in during the peak of their popularity. But even after the opening of 3 additional branches, there is no sign of their popularity waning. In fact, there was still a queue when we came in for late dinner around 9pm. Luckily, it was a fast moving one.

We also had A Beautiful Mess (RM19.50). Looks pretty neat to me :-D Anyway, it's cheddar cheese, beef patty, deep fried portobello mushrooms slathered with honey mustard and topped with a sunny side up egg. First bite and I was delighted by the unexpected crispness of the grilled savoury cheddar cheese. Then, it's all beefy goodness blended with egginess and savoury sweetness of the portobello mushrooms. The sweet honey mustard and signature potato charcoal bun held it all together.

The foods are good and worth for our second visit, but I definitely hope that they can expand the restaurant to enable customer to have a comfortable environment to enjoy their meal. It is indeed not a pleased experience when you couldn't find a seat while holding a tray of foods. I also expect the situation where the new coming customers standing next to your table rushing you finish the foods will only happen in food court.

Anyway the burgers still taste pretty good, and the service as well. But if you want to pick a place to eat and chat for a longer session, i suggest you might just come some other time on weekdays.

Verdict: This is a good place with great burgers! A totally cool place to have delicious burgers plus the people are very nice and friendly. If you don’t mind the long queue (you could end up queuing for hours) then do come here and have a taste of their wacky burgers! It’s worth it!!! Oh btw, did I mention that you will sweat like mad and smell like grilled burgers when you leave that place?
