A nice old school coffee place, with good local coffee. You come here mostly for the vibe, and enjoy simple but nice food.
Beside its toast bread and bun. Their pre-packed nasi-lemak its good too – pulau ketam nasi lemak will suit those prefer spicy while nasi lemak bungkuk is more savory and non-spicy.
First was the Roasted Pork. Although it came in generous quantity with the hint of alcohol scent, the overall taste was not appetizing. Only comfort factor here is the crispy skin but when the pork meat is too thick, the overall texture and taste was bland
This is the Nestle Prawns – unpeeled prawns cooked with nestum. The prawns were huge and fresh. They were so crunchy that I could eat it as a whole without peeling the prawns. This is one of the best dish that night.
Probably there best pandan cake in Malaysia: heavy, flavourful and nice texture. More expensive though at RM 28 (RM 14 for half the size).
The sponge cake layer and jelly like layer complement each other well. The sponge cake was not too dry and the jelly was not too wet or soft, therefore making the cake’s texture blend nicely when biting and chewing. The cake was also not too sweet, it is just to my liking of sweetness.
Long queue for some expensive but tasty pandan cake, something a tourist would do. There are some interesting old abandoned shops nearby.
Though not a huge place, the building design and architecture looks very nice. No photography allowed in the inside of the main building. There is a garden with a koi pond to take a break.
To be honest, I’m surprised there isn’t more publicity for Kwan Imm Temple as a tourist attraction, given it’s rich history and beautiful architecture. While locals seem to know about it, I wouldn’t have found out about the place if I hadn’t specifically been googling “places to visit in Klang”.
Overall, a good eat and reasonably priced and for those who can't wait at Four Eye, this can be an alternative, or they can move further afield for their meal.
The soup was out of this world. It should be the best in Klang.
I will be back for their "dry" bah kut teh which my friends say I must try 😋
Ribs at Peng Heong undoubtedly were the highlight, juicy and perfectly grilled. So was the mutton curry, the curry was thick and flavorful.
The restaurant also offers Claypot Curry Mutton, and the list goes on in their menu!
This place seems very popular, with good coffee and toast. FKT and Wanton Noodle are acceptable.
Cheong Foh Kopitiam is more than just a breakfast spot; it’s a living piece of Klang’s history. As you savor each bite and sip, you can’t help but feel a connection to the past. So, the next time you find yourself in Klang, make sure to check out this Kopitiam and let its nostalgic charm and delightful flavors transport you to a simpler time.
It is a beautifully decorated shop serving some local Chinese cuisines. The coffee is nice, albeit a bit expensive. Our dessert is okay.
In conclusion, TeoChew Nang Cafeteria is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that takes you back in time while indulging your taste buds in the authentic flavors of TeoChew cuisine. From the comforting TeoChew porridge to the kueh chap, and the delightful tau suan youzakuey. Each dish reflects the heart and soul of TeoChew cooking. If you find yourself in Klang, be sure to visit TeoChew Nang Cafeteria for an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates history, tradition, and the love for good food.
A comfortable and nice cafe in Klang city center. Dirty Latte (RM 12) is pretty good and Avocado Unbaked Cheese (RM 15) is nice. There is also a handmade shop upstairs by local artists.
In summary, Blackstone Cafe provides an atmosphere that transports you to days gone by. The decor is reminiscent of a bygone era, with vintage accents and cozy seating that invite you to linger a little longer. The simple yet elegant setting is a canvas for forging new memories while cherishing the old.
The safari of Klang, a really beautiful and interesting wall mural in a backlane.
The multi-coloured arches of the pre-war colonial shop-houses are attractive too! So don't go to Klang for it's renown Bak Kut Teh, come here and appreciate the art too.
The char kuey teow tasted below average, slightly too salty and not enough Wok fire!
The pork’s natural porcine sweetness is complemented by sweet savouriness with subtle herbal thats infused from medium bodied soupy broth.
I highly recommend trying their Big Breakfast, Flooded Toast, Baker's Croissant, Ham & Cheese Sandwich, All in One Pizza, Honey Baked Chicken, Rendang Chicken Spaghetti, Ayam Masak Merah Spaghetti, Nasi Lemak Ayam Merah, Farmus Salad with chicken schnitzel, Oreo Cheese Cake, Ondeh-Ondeh pandan cake with gula Melaka and coffee.
Huat Kee "Loh Shu Fun" - Worth returning? Definite Yes for me and for many Klang folks too (i would say). It is part of Klang heritage & good eat.
Overall, Restoran Sin Teo Heng is a must-visit for anyone who loves porridge. The dishes are all reasonably priced, and the quality of the food is good. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. If you’re in Klang and looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, be sure to check out Restoran Sin Teo Heng.
Before coming here, I have heard plenty of good things about Jalan Batai’s Char Koay Teow in Klang. Despite my initial skepticism and high expectations, it still managed to blow me away. So you can imagine how delicious this char koay teow is. It was definitely worth the hour drive we made all the way from Kepong.
Uncle Eng's Char Kuey Teow tasted delicious and so full of Wok Hei, an important feature of how a good Char Kuey Teow should be. Fried in a cast iron wok with simple ingredients using flat rice noodles, both smooth yet chewy texture with prawns, cockles, bean sprouts, eggs and Chinese chives.
Environment : Warm/Open Air
