For snacks, we shared the fried chicken strips (RM17), served with garlic pepper sauce. This was mostly chicken skin but oh-so-addictive. The sauce was strong and garlicky.
I do not know much about Balinese food and so, all I will say is that the food here is good. I went online, was curious to see the restaurant reviews as well as how well rated it was and yea, the reviews and ratings speaks for itself. Food was goooood, delicious. The dish came with Rice + Spiced Squids + Grilled Fish + Grilled Prawns + a Satay Lilit ( chicken or beef) + Chicken Rendang + Sambal (sambal Matah and sambal Terasi) + Anchovies Crackers + Salad. It was worth every penny, that is all I have to say. Did I mention how satisfied I was – very.
Pisang Sira, makan dengan eskrem vanill and bepang lepas tu ada crunch nuts and coconut candy. Ya Allah punya sedaaaaaap!
Foo Hing Dim Sum restaurant is one of the recommendation to hunt for dim sum by my friend and one of the best and most famous dim sum place in this part of Puchong town.
The most popular dim sum in Puchong. As a local, I seldom come as the place is too crowded.
Food is good, that is for sure. I ate like a pig, lol, ate all the dim sum I could possibly want and crave. Yum! I wouldn’t know if what my boss said was true, that this is one of the few good dim sum shops in this part of the city, as I myself haven’t been to many but tastewise – it is goooood.
The resto has undergone some renovation since our last visit; the dining area is much more spacious now and they’ve even made a couple of raised wooden ‘gazebos’ indoors. The corner for imported Vietnamese snacks and sundry (noodles, sauces, paste, etc.) has also been upgraded. The open outdoor seating is now covered, which provides some shade from the heat in the daytime.
Another dish I recommend trying is the lemongrass chicken with fried rice. Lemongrass is a popular herb used in many Vietnamese dishes, and the flavour permeates throughout the tender, juicy whole fried chicken thigh.
Plenty varieties of delicious Vietnamese food.
Lunch set available around RM 15 with free ice lemon tea, or add on RM 7 to upgrade to Cappuccino. The food is actually of decent quality, with wife thinks it should have more sauce (too dry). I..
Unagi with Rice and Japanese curry with chicken karaage (above). The portion was very generous, with three huge chunks of fried chicken, rice wrapped in a perfectly fluffy omelette, flooded with a savoury curry sauce. Tastewise, it was pretty good although I felt that it could have benefited from extra seasoning (curry was quite bland). The chicken was excellent, and despite the large size it was juicy and thoroughly cooked, with crisp skin.
One of the decent cafe in Puchong.
Service is a bit slow as the shop is only 75% occupied. Taste wise it feels like deteriorate slightly, like from good to normal.
One of the best Wantan Noodles in Puchong.
My favourites are pai kuat noodles, which always sell out before noon.
The bowl looked fiery red when it came to the table; there were soft slices of tofu swimming within, and the soup’s colour contrasted nicely with the enoki mushrooms and spring onion garnish on top. The soup was the bomb. Some places cut corners and add more kimchi paste, which means you get watery, ‘flavoured’ soup — but with this, I could really taste the texture of fibrous, blended vegetables, and there was a good amount of kimchi within as well. It was thick and sour, perfect for whetting the appetite, and the slight viscosity meant that the soup clung to each strand of ramyeon for maximum flavour. Did I also mention that the pork slices were super tender and had a great ratio of lean and fat?
I just want to mention real quick that this is one of the few restaurants that has one of the best customer service I have ever experienced. This is really rare in Malaysians restaurants I must say. The owner is insanely friendly and all smiles attending to every table's request, looking around at every table every few minutes or so to see if everything is all good. You can see the leadership influence in his staff as they do the same as well. Kudos to the team!! So, let's get to it!
Nice cake and pie, and good coffee.
The Mee Jawa set lunch is decent. Coffee and cake is always good.
The restaurant serves all-day breakfast, western cuisines, variety of cakes as well as local delights such as Laksa.
This place has gotten very busy, and the food is good as usual.
Delicious and satisfying food.
Tasty and value lunch set.
Coffee and egg tart, a pretty good combination after meal.
Might wondering; is this coffee shop a big deal ? How delicious exactly, is their food delicious enough for people to be willing to queue in long lines ? It’s the Oriental Kopi , opened in the year 2021, also won the International Taste Institute Award 2021 in Brussels too !!!
Oriental Kopi is popular kopitiam in Bandar Puteri Puchong, that provided the best egg tart and breakfast, especially delicious nasi lemak!
Second try – do I like it? No, I don’t .. I still find it just a gimmick.
I would say Lou Ma Zi is a heaven for winter melon fans! It's much more healthier compare to normal steamboat. Price considered as slighly expensive as the food portion was too little and you have to add on some meat, vege and side to fill up stomach, It would be costly if you are big eater or meat lover.
Mandy also had butter prawns (RM 20). 🦐 You can choose either “dry butter” or “wet butter” – the former is deep fried strands of crispy butter and the latter is more like a buttery sauce. I tend to prefer the wet type since the sauce goes better with rice.
If you are a crazy crab lover, then you will be in for a ride because what if I told you you can enjoy 3 Crabs for only RM55?
After that we tasted the Mantis Prawn with Dry Chili RM15. This mantis prawn meat are battered and deep fried before being stir fried with dry chillies, onions and spring onions. This dishes is better eaten with a bowl of steaming white rice.
Enjoy a delicious spread of festive treats this Christmas at Four Points by Sheraton Penang.
In short, our 2D1N stay in Four Points by Sheraton Puchong was really satisfying. We especially love the comfortable bed and mini bar with French press brew.
My mom's favourite porridge place: value for money.
Delicious dishes.
Rice Porridge was fresh and tasty and I find it to be very reasonably priced. My rating for that shall be 8/10
I think the Fried Kuey Teow and Prawn Mee here is pretty good.
Nice FKT, popiah and fried rice. Strangely this place isn't popular.
Fried Kuey Teow portion is very small to be even fit in “the small” category. Although cockles are fresh but still able to count on ten fingers (very stingy) after requesting for add-on cockles. Overall taste just ok (with the help of Chinese sausage), nothing much to shout about the Fried Kuey Teow since any stall can easily produce such standard dish.
The Sarawak Laksa was okay but I am not too sure what all the positive ratings online was about. The broth was soupy and watery. Sure, I know that this laksa generally has a less thicker broth than Curry and Asam Laksa but I am pretty sure it shouldn’t be as watery as the one here. It’s almost as if they decided to forego the little coconut milk needed for this dish. Oh well, what would I know, right? I’ve only tasted a few Sarawak Laksas prior to this. Tastewise, it was decent. There were lots of shredded chicken and noodles. The slight sourness, usually derived from tamarind, was missing or perhaps very mild. Despite the lack of, it was not bland. Somewhat flavorful. So, that was good.
I think the noodles are good as well as SIL and brother said that their servings of curry noodles and Sarawak Laksa was acceptably good. I will give it a try should I revisit this place again. When we left, more customers are walking into the kopitiam. Looks like we can revisit this place again.. and this time maybe with Mum.. hehe
Food is fairly tasty, price wise slightly high.
(R18) Dry Curry Chicken Noodle, 17.50 ringgit. The Dry Curry Noodles arrived first and guys – it was sooooo yummy! I’ve tried several dry curry noodles before, the ones that usually includes kuay teow, mee hoo or wan tan mee but I have never tasted dried curry with maggi yawww!! Okla, my friend was pretty sure that it was wan tan mee but it tasted like maggi to me. So, I am just gonna go with my take on it, lol. The dish came with 4 chunky, meaty pieces of chicken and a generous amount of chicken curry, the kind you would find at shops serving Chap fun? mixed rice? Yummmm! Mix it all up and what you’d get is real tasty. I loved it. I slurped it all up within a minute.
Lucky for us, Reminisce Cafe did not let us down. We had an overall enjoyable dinner. As what it has been named - Reminisce, you'll feel like you are walking down memories lane of your childhood. The interior were meticulously decorated with nostalgic pieces with each piece you can tell a story from your childhood.
Village BBQ Steamboat at Bandar Puteri, Puchong offers a varied range of meat, seafood, vegetables and noodles for hungry diners to enjoy. As the name perceives, the restaurant introduced three ways of the simple cooking method to enjoy the buffet which is BBQ, Grill and Steamboat.
Designed to provide both hot pot and BBQ simultaneously, Village Steamboat in Puchong is one place not to be overlooked when scouting for a joyful dinner experience. The thing about hot pot and BBQ is also the togetherness and conversations over the cooking time. What makes this halal (pork-free) restaurant stand out is the BBQ Pitt next to your hot pot table, their lively swimming prawns, and their excellent assortment of vegetables, meatballs of many kinds, mushrooms, meats and of course the fresh seafood- a favourite with the neighbourhood patrons, as well as fellow foodies.
Bitter Gourd Chicken Stew (苦瓜闷鸡) RM15.00 considers as a classic dish and is a must order in this restaurant. Overall tastes great with a thick ginger fermented black bean gravy which is great to pair with a scoop of rice.
Menu is wide, can be a little intimidating for those who has trouble deciding; but the ones suggested as signature usually won’t go wrong. Here another one of their signature dish- Stir fried pork with salted fish.
Ambiance: 5.5/10 Price: 6.5/10 Food: 6.5/10 (non halal) Verdict: The food was quite good (especially the bittergourd soup) and considerably healthy.
One dish worth tyring is the "very smooth" steam egg, it really was well steamed and at a very reasonable price of rm$6.
There's some hits and misses here but I guess the price made up for the lack of perfect dining experience. The bill for 4 of us is just RM84. This is one of the better BBQ Pork around. The BBQ pork and roast duck are definitely the winners here and if you are looking for something to eat in Puchong, Bandar Puteri is the place to go. There's rows and rows of restaurants and eating outlets and I wonder why I've never been here?!!
There's some hits and misses here but I guess the price made up for the lack of perfect dining experience.
