Verdict: 1. Tapas Club is a great place for dine and wine by both the day and night. Highly recommended for special occasions, celebrations or private functions too. 2. Overall, Tapas Club has far exceeded our expectations in almost all aspects, be it the quality of food, ambiance or service. If I were to have any complaints at all, it would be the overall taste of food leaning towards the heavier (stronger) side. But no worries, pairing them with some boozes will help balance out the flavours. 3. Recommended: Garlic Prawn, Squid Ink Paella, Tapas Club Cheesecake
Suckling pig with spinach - MYR 27++ (MYR 31.32 nett). Juicy fatty fine meat with skin as crispy as a potato chip. The aioli dip, made from garlic and olive oil is smooth and garlicky.
Iberico Pork Skewers – RM25 A dish perfect for a Spanish party! I was really amazed at how tasty and juicy they were.
My favorite dish here at Tapas Club is the Arroz Negro (RM78), the squid ink paella with clams, fish and squid. The paella here is literally perfection; made with bomba rice, lovingly stirred with seafood stock for 20 minutes and a final blast of heat to create the essential soccarat (ie crust) at the bottom of the pan that a good paella must possess.
Gambas Alajillo/Garlic Prawns RM26 Took a while for Gambas Alajillo to arrived at our table but definitely worth the wait. One of our favourite Spanish tapas, also the more well-recognized tapas here in KL. Bouncy shrimps, deeply coated in flavours of garlic and olive oil. Came with toasted bread for us to mop the olive oil-based sauce clean.
Reasons to visit the Tapas Club Kuala Lumpur: A Michelin-starred chef creating traditional Spanish tapas and delicious paella; good value for money; beers imported from the oldest brewery in the world, Ambar; solid selection of wines imported directly by the owners from Spain.
