This stall is famous for its Char Hor Fun and Asian frying dishes. The Char Hor Fun here is well-known by some of the regular customers that are willing to come all the way from outstation. The taste of the Char Hor Fun is very traditional and packed with smokey chargrill aroma. This is one of the recommended Char Hor Fun in town.
Definitely worth coming back for breakfast or lunch when opportunity permits.
Aglio Olio (RM 19.80). Their Aglio Olio is also nicely done with al-dente spaghetti noodles, topped with mushrooms, tomatoes, and sprinkles of cheese. The flavour comes well from the olive oil and pepper, albeit oil was slightly excessive which might be neglectable by some.
When it’s hard to park your car on the street, the only spot available is often right in front of it – because any car parked there will be bathed in oil from the cafe’s extractor fan. But anyway, it’s inexpensive with a friendly staff, and tasty food.
Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling (Pitt Street) in Penang is one of the most celebrated cultural districts of Penang. It is also here in the heart of George Town where one would find the mushrooming trend of cafes. For one – the Bean Sprout Cafe located in a two-storey heritage building opposite the Kuan Yin Temple has grown into a popular place. The cafe catches the eye from the street with its black colored blinds with big white wordings.
没有复杂的餐点,简单而且价钱超实惠
Recently converted to an all-day breakfast venture, Yolk Breakfast & Chill is a small neighborhood cafe that starts your day by offering simple, straight-forward brunch items. The hipsters would be glad to know that 'Magic Potion' is one of the proud creations of Yolk Breakfast & Chill. Previously Paper Pepper Cafe, Yolk Breakfast & Chill offers a small all-day breakfast menu but nothing too unusual or unique; rather, the focus should on their series of 'Magic Potion'. The concept is not new, it uses Butterfly Pea Flower Tea as the base and to mix with other liquid (such as Yogurt, Fruit Juice etc). While the prices are very competitive, we thought the food quality was somewhat less-impressive....
Specializing in the classic brunch items- Big Breakfast, Toasts and Pancakes; The Bean Sprout Cafe is one of the latest members to join the clamoring cafe scene in Penang. It occupies one of the lots right opposite to the few century old Kuan Yin Temple along Masjid Kapitan Keling. Both exterior and interior are rustic, it certainly matches the heritage theme well. The contrast is obvious here- young and passionate in an old-fashioned space; east (building) meets west (food); the cafe operators seem to pay great attention to details here. The heat-intolerant might be glad to know that there's a huge blower erected (though not air-conditioned), the cafe is not stuffed and the ventilation works fine. We did not feel stuffy at all, on a sultry hot afternoon. Albeit the cafe has a small menu but sipping a cup of Joe and enjoying the Toast while looking at the bustling temple-praying scene can be one of the great ways to enjoy your off day.
