Hence, if you are looking for a spot for a leisure hangout with family and friends over scrumptious cuisine, do check out Breadfruits for a cozy environment and I personally enjoyed their wild honey drink series besides the luscious porky affair and the addictive Moroccan Chicken Popcorn too! SATO San Smoked Chashu Donbori (MYR 22) Smoked chashu served with homemade teriyaki sauce and onsen egg and spring onion The whole combo comes very nicely presented, most importantly is yummy! Just love the very well marinated smoked chashu with generous amount of toppings, highly recommended!
As the main star of the day, BreadFruit's house special, Smoked Chicken dish is simply amazing. Tenderly prepared with care as the meaty chicken is lighted seasoned with spices and herbs before being smoked to perfection.
Next, we had the Son's Smoked Saba Mackerel (RM38 per fish) which is a mackerel fish from Norway. This fish is also seasoned with mix spice seasoning. When we cut open the fish, we can see the smoke still coming out of the fish meat. It is nicely marinated and the use of the applewood chips does it work to enhance the natural flavour of the fish with a slight hint of smoky flavour. This smoked fish dish is served with Rockets and Greek salad.
Father's Smoked Pork Shoulder 150g RM25 - 300G RM38, Marinated sakura porl shoulder smoked in the barrel with apple wood chips served with roasted potato & greek salad. *waiting time 15-20 minutes at least*
My ommelette, find it ok. One of the plus here is they serve pork bacon, instead of the halal beef type.
We intended to eat at BreadFruits, Taman Desa monthly but we never seemed to get around to doing that. The last time we ate there was in November last year so it is about time we go there again and we did just that to celebrate our 19 years of ROM.
Reasons to visit: simple yet delicious cocktails, Pesto Grilled Salmon, Wild Honey Pork Chop, Soft Shell Crab Risotto, lovely friendly service, warm atmosphere and value for money.
Will we back again? Definitely yes to try out their remaining hearty dishes on the menu. Rating: Food - 4.5/5 Price - 4/5 Service - 3.5/5 Ambiance - 4/5 (clean and cozy)
Verdict: The dishes we’ve tried did not hit us with huge surprise if compared with the breakfast/brunch menu, in the other words a pretty average one. Prices are slightly on the higher side and it would be hard to be convinced for a revisit anytime soon.
