It is super worth it… So go spice up your life with the yummy dishes of Jaffna here at Yarl..
There is also another signature dish of Mutton Bone Varuval that one simply must order. Thick and rich with deep spiced notes from slow and long hours of cooking to render the mutton bone till oozing with soft gelatinous marrow richness, the varuval is marvelous with rice.
Well, I wanted a sweet appam just for the heck of it, a dessert of some sort to end a satisfying meal and that was exactly what it was. Small, light, fluffy and not overly sweet. I’d order it again. I made a mistake in terms of not immediately eating it and instead I decided to enjoy my warm drink first. Once an appam is served and left to sort of air dry for a bit, it becomes a little herder on the outside and crumbly. So, while it was yummy, I wasnt truly able to enjoy its whole yumminess, my mistake
I enjoyed the tea time offerings more than the rice dishes at Yarl. In fact, I’m very likely to visit again soon. This time I intend to order the egg apam and I’m not sharing! But really, the food isn’t bad by any measure. It just that I enjoyed the kotthu, puttu and apam more.
