The rooms are tastefully furnished, maintaining much of their original colonial charm. They are fully air-conditioned, complete with parquet flooring, satellite TV, electric kettle and clean crisp freshly-laundered bedding. Modern fittings are all in place in the attached bathrooms.
On the main, the Asian Style Spicy Crab Meat Pasta was somewhat unique and new to us. The Crab meat paste had an indelible sweetness with chili chunks. It was not spicy but it did provide the necessary heat. The paste was enjoyed with Angel Hair in which the concoction was okay at first but rather flat and monotonous towards the end. It lacked the juicy crunch or refreshing touch... might be a dish good for sharing
Too interesting to forgo this place for a cuppa of local indian teh tarik. Whether it is Starbucks, Kopitiam Coffee Gao, Boutique Cafe, or road-side make-shift Kopi stall like this one; I like them all, each gives a difference experience an appreciation.
The banana leaf rice set is served in a combination of traditional and modern way. Rice is still being laid on a banana leaf, but the dishes and gravies are served in a single steel cup instead of being scooped on the banana leaf. Well, we loved every bits of the gravies here, and the dishes were delicious. If ever we felt the taste became too complicated, a bite of the picked chili will help to cleanse the entire taste buds.
Their menu is very extensive, well covered with selection of spaghetti, herbal soups, brown rice, noodle, Asian delight, side dishes, salads, desserts and healthy beverages. I was spoiled with choices and ended up with Rainbow Mix rice. This colourful appealing dishes used brown rice, fried with burdock fibrous that is believed to help clear toxins from the bloodstream, but the rice was a tad over salty. Enormous piles of greens, carrot and seaweed topped the rice has brought a shock upon served in the good way. By just topping up RM 4.90 to get a complete meal with dessert and drink.
This little gem serves up a menu with interesting Oriental and Western dishes. For beverages, you can decide between lemonade, ice-blended calamansi freeze, sodas, smoothies, cold beer and wine. The ice-blended calamansi freeze prepared with grandma’s original homemade calamansi-honey recipe has a nice note of calamansi shining through.
