Pretty underwhelming with the undefined crust which surprisingly lacked crunch. Kinda stingy with the luncheon meat methinks.
Joy Luck Teahouse offers the Egg Tarts from Hoover’s Cake Shop in Hong Kong.
Yet it still wasn't as good as Tai Cheong.
The egg tart was buttery, silky and custardy, with the full-on fragrance of egg. The polo bun and curry fishballs were normal, and there was not enough curry with the fishballs. The queue was crazy – 30 minutes for these. Is mad.
Overall, I did not think that the egg tarts or bolo bao were significantly different from those in other good HK style restaurants or bakeries.
Joy Luck Teahouse in ION Orchard is a takeaway kiosk. They will open a second outlet in Bugis next month which will have seating space.

Will they be serving the much-beloved curry fish balls so typical of Hong Kong street food? We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.
