We enjoyed the food here and this is definitely one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in town. The owners are friendly but it is a bit warm in the restaurant. Finding parking can be a challenge on top of the long queue. You should visit Restoran Seoul Taman at Danau Desa if you are Korean BBQ lover.

整体来说我还算喜欢这里的食物的，价钱和普通的韩国烤肉店差不多，朋友所说的缺点我一点也没有感受到，虽然烤肉没有他们所形容的肉汁会喷出来那么神，不过还是算很不错的。

This cafe looks very cosy but the menu is rather limited, most of the desserts sold are dango and mochi, served in a presentable way and at quite a high price of at least RM 20 and above.

All in all, places like Riverboat are a gem that should be treasured. Their prices are affordable, quality of food is excellent and they are more focused on taste and authenticity of the cuisine they provide and take pride in making sure the needs of patrons are attended to. During lunch and dinner hours it can get pretty packed so make sure you call ahead and place a reservation. My advice is to come with an empty stomach together with a company of good friends or family members who have good appetites and eat to your heart’s content!

For our Chap Goh Meh celebration this year, we decided to eat out at Riverboat, one of our favorite Thai restaurants. We called a day in advance to reserve a table as well as pre-order the BBQ tilapia fish as it takes about 45 minutes to cook.

For sashimi lover, you won’t be complaining the freshness of the seafood here and we hope they still offer this. Love every piece of seafood sashimi on this platter. It is served cold, the texture is good, the taste is still fresh and it is awesome when you dipped on to light soy sauce and real wasabi.

No Japanese meal is complete without a dose of mentaiko, so an order of Mentaiko-Seared Tamadon @ RM14.90 is a must. Four thick slices of fluffy-sweet tamago, blanketed by savoury-creamy mentaiko that's blowtorched to smoky perfection and (this time) even finished with a sprinkling of salty furikake for an absolutely yummy combination of savoury-creamy-sweet flavours. Kids would adore this...as would (some) adults! ^.^

Meanwhile, my girl friend and I both ordered the Yakiniku Don (RM26) which took super long to arrive - we had to remind them as the tables around us had already ate their food and have left even though we ordered first. Thankfully, when it finally arrived, it tasted good - thin slices of beef with onions topped on rice, along with a cute mini-sized fried quails egg. All the dons came with a miso soup.

My favourite is the Kushiyaki offering which is a great starter dishes and one of the most perfect dish that can be paired with an order of the Sake. Freshly grilled, and with a dash of salt, it is just addictive to be eaten right from the skewers, Among my favorite are the Chicken Wings, Chicken Gizzard, Pork Belly and Leek. The Teppan Asian Beef Striploin is worth the order as they brings you with the tender-licious and juicy meat which is definitely worth to go for. The striploin comes simply juicy and each mouthful is irrestible and delicious. We are really amazed about it and totally in love with the juicy meat.

I was looking around for a cafe that is reasonably priced in Taman Desa to meet my mentor Andrew Chadbourne and found this gem of a cafe called Jemi Cafe that even has lunch sets and a many types of cakes and coffee. The lunch set cost only RM16.90.

But what sets Karen’s nasi lemak apart from the rest is the option to add a side of dry curried wild boar. Hardly the most common in town, much less paired with nasi lemak, the wild boar is succulent without being overly gamey, and thanks to the right mix of rempah rendang (Malay curry spices). Irish Coffee, 18 ringgit. Now, this drink I can recall pretty well. It was yummy 🙂 soooooo yummy! It was thick, creamy, bitter, a tad sweet – all in one. Basically, it was a combination of hot coffee + irish whiskey + sugar + cream. Imagine sipping this blend on a rainy day, soooo nice. I visited this cafe at when it was not crowded, I basically had the place to my self, had my laptop on, sipping on this yummy cup of coffee, listening to some soothing music on the audio. I had a good time, a chilled out and relaxed time.

Normally, tea set will only available from 2.30pm to 5pm at other places. Well, here they have it from 12noon but with different serving. Glad that they have the tea served as early as 12 noon. Other places where there hold so strict on their timing disappoints me. As diners and maybe small eaters, we would like to have tea set served during lunch hour. The set served with a decent mixture of small bites such as tarts, sausages, and others.

Special Set, 18.90 ringgit. This lunch set, I liked very much. It came with a bowl of rice + a main dish + Pandan Chicken + a drink + dessert. There were several options for main meal – Tom Yum, Thai Green Curry Chicken, Fish Sambal , of which I decided on Tom Yum. Although the set meal was meant for 1 person, I am sure you guys can see that the Tom Yum soup came in a generous portion. It sure was tasty, a good blend of spices and sweetness. There was plenty of meat in it, prawns and squids, lime leaves, lemongrass. It was all in there. I kept slurping and slurping it all. The pandan chicken we basically 2 pieces of chicken meat on a skewer, wrapped in pandan leaf. It was yummy and the dessert was basically 2 pieces of coconut pudding. It had bits of shredded coconut and corn in it. Sweet, simple and light – a good end to my lunch here.

Rayong Thai, another popular Thai Food Restaurant in Taman Desa KL after Riverboat and Moobaan Thai. Simple menu, cheap price. Tomyum and Thai green curry are really good.
