We’ve checked out a lot of pork noodles in KL/PJ, and Siong Pin still comes out on top. We find the broth to be perfectly balanced and not too heavy on soy sauce. Each bowl is cooked individually to ensure freshness and consistency of taste.
阿來魚頭米粉 Ah Lai Fish Head Noodles Highly recommended!
definitely worth revisiting for breakfast here again very soon in the future.
Due to its proclamation, Botak Nasi Lemak will likely draw a comparison to Village Park Nasi Lemak. As it rightly claims, Botak Nasi Lemak is unlikely our No. 1 – but is worth a visit if you’re craving for Nasi Lemak in the area.
I will be back!
Have had the Wanton Mee here on Oct 16 (2 months ago), but today's plan was for 合順茶餐室 Restoran Hup Soon's Home-made Yong Tao Foo.
Food today: 👍👍😋😋 7/10
One of the better in town is the Home-made Chee Cheong Fun and Yong Tao Foo here at SS3's 合順茶餐室 Restoran Hup Soon
Verdict: Both food that we tried were just average at best, so don’t put too high expectation like me, this Kopitiam still a viable lunch option if you find yourself at this area.
The Kopitiam offers I think around 12 stalls
It is early breakfast here with Indian Roti, and a limited selection of Kueh (Karipap, Vadai, etc). Available for lunch are Banana Leaf and Chicken/Mutton Biryani.
"釀之味 Taste of Yong Tao Fu" stall offers not just Yong Tao Foo with Chee Cheong Fun with the usual Curry or Sweet Sauce; but also with 咖哩雞 Curry chicken, 咖哩面 Curry Mee, 雲吞面 Wanton Mee or even 飯 rice! Looks like most of the Yong Tao Foo are Home made as well.
With a good variety of hawker stalls, and ample parking available, SS3's "S11 美食中心 Restoran S One One" is a desirable destination for a quick breakfast or lunch for that matter.
I would say that both the Western Grilled and Eastern Pan-Fried Pork Meatballs are excellent beer bites that goes well with Wine, Beer, or maybe Chinese White Wine or even Sake!
Double Joy 新雙喜 is an excellent, humble little place to enjoy homely dishes with quality fresh ingredients.
We all had a jolly good time here. The food was da’ bomb. It is hard to pin point the exact difference but I am sure we all can agree that there is a difference between a homecooked meal and something eaten in a restaurant. Well here, although it is in an eatery, it sure did taste homecooked. Lovely. Ambiance was good too. I’ve got no complaints and most definitely will be back for more.
Next on, I was coaxed to try the Fried Ikan Basung. It was fried to a nice crunch and was crispy right to the bone. You can eat the fish head which has a nice crunchy texture. The dish is also served with a special sambal sauce that you can dip with but I love the natural taste of the fish with the crunchy feel.
If you can only try one noodle, get the Tuaran Mee Goreng. I’d also suggest that you order a drier version because it’s a tad moist as it is. What makes it worthwhile is the noodle itself which is known for its springy texture and eggy aroma. It can only be found in Sabah and had to be air-flown all the way here. And contrary to its name, it’s not exactly ‘goreng-ed’ as in stir fried. The noodle is actually simmered in sauce to let the flavors develop.
I like the Hakka noodles, nice texture and slightly stronger taste. Wanton Noodle is nice too, and the glazed BBQ pork is pretty good. Nothing is cheap nowadays.
Toast & Roast, as the name proclaimed the “the Real CharSiew” . . . well, totally agreed and hands down their “char siew” is impeccable delicious, literally melt in your mouth.
TnR by Sean & Angie serves one of the best char siew in PJ. They are always nicely charred with lovely caramelisation.
What do We Like about Choon Prawn Mee House? -The prawn mee broth which was rich, and full of prawns’ flavour
The traditional Prawn Mee was very nice, I think prawn-based soup was a little bit on the sweet side and not as spicy as I'd imagine it to be, which fits my taste buds. Nice!
我喜欢Nyonya咖喱鱼丸,因为咖喱包装了一个冲击力。也就是说,这并没有向我招呼“槟城”小贩,所以只把它当作一种(美味的)小吃。
Living up to its reputation, the Hainanese kopi mixed with tea was indeed delicious, and the coffee itself fragrant, well-balanced and moderately “kaw”. A nice change from Western All Day Breakfast, a meal here is comforting and soul-food for those who long for nostalgia, but at premium prices. Kopi average about RM4 per cup while the toast varieties are from RM5 to 8 (approx).
What do We Like about Thong Kee @ Sea Park? -The many varieties for breakfast directly from Thong Kee instead of the individual stalls -The organized table and ordering system. Can clearly see some serious thoughts being put in to improve the process flow, impressive -The beverages and foods are reasonably priced
Unlike most Hainanese breakfast eateries, Thong Kee’s specialty is their homemade croissants which is what makes them unique.Thong Kee Cafe at Seapark, Petal...
The signature pork chop alone has many different flavors to choose from. Our favorite is the nam yee and marmite sauce and we usually choose to have pork chop as there are no bones to it. Basically all the sauces are tasty anyway. The pork chop portion was big and with all the side dishes, it made a fulfilling meal.
I only visit here for their Pork Chop with Thai Sauce and Lemon Sauce Pork Chop. Aside from these two dishes, others are not really good to me. 我只会为他们的泰式猪扒和柠檬猪扒而拜访这里。其他的对我而言没那么美味。
Normally when we go to eat at Ribs King, PJ, we would order the rice dishes but this time I had the chicken mushroom wanton noodle at MYR 7.50+ (6% GST = MYR 7.95 nett). Taste quite acceptable.
As for the 240g chicken patty, it was made with 70% chicken breast and 30% chicken thigh, the patty was juicy. The avocado pesto salsa was refreshing and fragrant to go with the chicken patty, good combination it was.
The vibes here are quite interesting but a bit expensive, eg. Paleo Beef Burger (RM 26.90) where the portion is quite big.
Would I head here again? Hmmmm, if I want a cheerful place to hang out at , that is noisy and full of laughter and people talking and all, then yea, I would head here. For the food specifically , not so much. Like I said in the intro, first for its boisterous environment and then for the food.
What do We Like about Shokudo Curry House? -The Japanese curry satisfied our craving -The special black curry, though it can be spicier
So came across this neighbourhood local grown brand Shokudo Japanese Curry Rice that serves up a decent array of deep fried pork meat with its homemade Japanese curry.
Our friend enjoyed her Tori Tsukune Curry Udon (chicken meatballs with curry udon). The meatballs have a similar texture to Ikea’s meatballs while the curry is less thicker than ours and slightly citrus-y – which definitely work better as a soupy udon dish. This place has been here for many years, and now we know why. Probably one of the better Japanese curry rice in PJ.
Seafood fried rice (RM12 – one portion). Good portion, generous amount of seafood (shrimps, crab meat sticks), nice wokhei.
Stir Fried Lai Fun with seafood (prawns, squid, mini scallops) for MYR 12 The Lai Fun is the default type of noodle used for Assam Laksa). The noodles are a bit springy so I need to chew for a long time carefully. I kept more than half of this dish for my friend as the portion is too much for me.
The restaurant does not offer a big menu list of choices and I think it is perhaps a good thing that they offer what they do best.
Next, curry gravy. Their staff will bring the curry container and you will be spoiled with choices, as they have chicken curry, fish curry, crab curry and salted fish curry. Our favorite, will be fish and crab curry. But why limit ourselves, the best we would say, little scoop of everything to made it a curry combo (haha), Yummy !!!
We enjoyed the BLR here for its good offering of veggies and curries. We recommend the fried fish, mutton varuval and ikan bilis sambal.
The Chicken Varuval was really good. I specifically requested for chicken breast because I’d rather forego the bones and they delivered. The ‘Small’ option came with 4 meaty, juicy, flavorful chicken meat. It was an awesome addition to the banana leaf rice. The fried fish too, was tender and flavorful. Overall, a good experience. I’d be back for more. Burp!
Verdict: There’s definitely a lot more food to try at Restoran O & S, especially the highly recommended Asam Laksa and Curry Noodles, but waiting for table in a stuffy environment never something I enjoy. Revisit? I don’t have a firm answer I would say. ╮(╯_╰)╭
What do We Like about O&S Restaurant, Taman Paramount? -Best curry mee in the neighbourhood -Tasty char kueh teow -The coffeeshop setting for local delicacies
Personally I like their Macau egg (egg in tomato sauce) and kam heong pork slices. Very much to my liking. Also to note is their rice portion is very huge (we like to eat rice by the way), usually we shared one bowl of rice.
Head down to Secret Of Louisiana located in the heart of Petaling jaya while enjoying the memorable moment with sunset by the Lake .
Finally, it was our long awaited dinner time! We had dinner at Secret of Louisiana! This was my second visit. We were also celebrating my birthday when we were here 2 years ago. But, we didn't make a reservation at that time, so we didn't get a nice table. This time, hubby made a reservation through Offpeak. Therefore, we not only got a nice table just right beside the lake, we also got a 10% discount! :P
With a nice view by the lake, it is not a surprise that this restaurant for office workers to take a break from their confined cubicles to have their lunches.
