I especially loved the Fried Beancurd and Fried Dumpling. The outer layer was simply crispy and warm, tasty too. The inside of the dumpling, oooo the minced meat was da bomb. Soo delicious.
The fresh vegetables done just right were juicy and crunchy. The fish balls and fillings are dense and have a slightly fresh fish taste.
The ambiance is village-style with lots of space you can't find elsewhere. The wind was circulating and the table arrangements were not claustrophobic.
Tekak orang Malaysia, memang nasi menjadi menu wajib bukan!

Today, I went the best BBQ place located in Kampung Kemensah. I never expected that I can have BBQ by the river. The BBQ restaurant is called “BBQ LAMB KL Ke...
Pork BBW (MYR 16/ pax) Then we realized that for this porky bbq, minimum order was 2 pax. We didn’t know earlier as it wasn’t stated there so yeah, we were pretty full to the brim towards the end. Nevertheless, the meat was fresh and tasteful.
And so, thanks to the tip off from le Penang buddy that this place called Po Cha Korean BBQ, was actually not bad with the taste as well as the generous portion- except that banchan here was not refillable. On top of that, this humble restaurant was run by an old Korean uncle who was conversant with very basic English, so please bear with him.
We ordered Army Stew @ RM 53, comes with the usual ingredients such as tofu, ham, sausage and ramyeon. The soup is pretty good, as hint of sweetness from the veggie, nice balance of spicy and sour. Pretty different compare to others.
Salt Baked Fish Definitely a must-try! Well seasoned, super fresh and it goes so well with the sauces.
Their Chinese New Year package range start from RM188 to RM598, Nong & Jimmy don't have fancy ambience but offers good quality and delicious foods to patrons. Reasonable price and I was happy with the actual quality when I tried it. I'm really satisfied with it, aww~~ i missed the zesty, spicy, and flavorful Thai food now!
It is no wonder people are still flocking to this place even after so many years. Loke Yun Chicken Rice has definitely lived up to its high standard that its founder, Mr. Pang Gui had passed on to the current generation.
Since there were only chicken breast and wing left for the normal chicken (white chicken), we opted for the kampung chicken. Like most chicken rice restaurants in town, kampung chicken (‘choi yun gai’) is only served in at least half a chicken’s portion. So it’s either take it or leave it kind of situation. 5 years ago, half a kampung chicken at Loke Yun cost RM30. Now it’s RM39. If that sounds premium, you should know that there’s another even more expensive option – Crystal Chicken which goes for RM48 for half a bird. If we ever return, we will definitely try that.
Burger Bakar Abang Burn is famously known for its cheesy Aligot Tarik and sloppy burger in Kuala Lumpur. We've been seeing this place in our social media feed for the longest time and we're finally here to try it out!
別等了今晚就來個超class超邪惡😈的Burger吧!
What is so special about this stall. I guess it boils down to 2 things for me. Homemade Patty and also their new inclusion of cheese version like raclette cheese – an additional of RM 15 just for that. There are 4 flavours available but that depends more like choices of the day on which is available. Their classic is Burger Bakar from RM 7.90 then they do have Premium Burger bakar from Rm 8.90 and it seems their signature is Kuater Kilo @ RM 12.90.
The Asam Laksa was awesome too. Although this dish I decided to go for SMALL, the portion was generous as well. The sardines, at most eateries, I’d usually get only one chunk but here is got three, large pieces. Now that, I liked very much. It makes all the difference, you know? Yea yea, I am tad cuckoo when it comes to them sardines. Then, there was the laksa noodles + cracker/keropok + lettuce + shrimp paste + onions + pineapples. A satisfying dish it was. It embodied and fulfilled all the elements of an asam laksa.
Besides curry noodles and assam laksa, they also offer Tom Yum Noodles, Fish Ball Noodles and Jawa Mee. The curry noodles here is definitely my preferred choice over the assam laksa. This curry mee can give our favourite curry laksa a run for its money although it didn't knock it off its top spot in our books. Plus the price for such a fully loaded bowl makes it really cheap. Make sure you order their two side snacks of Penang Lobak and Penang Otak-Otak as they're equally yum. If you can't make it here, they've opened a stall in Makan-Makan by Parkson (on Level 3, Sunway Velocity Mall) since February 2017 under the name of Homey Curry Laksa (now that's a name I can understand). They strive to give you the homemade taste (like your mom or grandma makes or use to make) in their curry mee, hence the name Jia Li Mian or Homey Curry Laksa. Did they deliver? For me, they did.
Overall, I love the soothing ambiance rendered by this café and resonates well with the delicate atmosphere. It certainly makes a good place for a relaxing respite as you unwind the day placidly.
A special Korean dining experience with majority of food are specially made from scratch by the owner. If you are looking for some healthy yet delicious food, this is the place for you!
Prawn Soyabean Pudding – similar to “cawan mushi”, this delicate savoury pudding was good to the last spoonful!
I'd highly recommend this place for its ambiance, but do note though, this place has no air conditioning, so we left the place with sweaty face and sticky skin. haha! The food, was really mediocre and don't justify for the price tag.
I absolutely loved this Cantonese chang because it doesn't use soy sauce in the rice (besides the rice being not fried) which allows me to taste the glutinous rice grains in its pure form. On unwrapping the chung, I could see a bit of the rice stuck to the bamboo leaves which I didn't mind at all as that would mean the chung is less oily.
The Meat Rolls @ RM11.50 arrived looking and tasting like lor bak except it was encased in this super crispy layer of beancurd skin. It was very delish.
Dried Handmade Pan Mee, 8.50 ringgit This dish was yummy. It basically consisted of rather colorful yellow, green homemade noodles + minced meat + fried pork fat + fried anchovies + seaweed? It was a good mix between oily and spicy. Tasted delicious, as soon as it arrived at our table, we started gobbling it all up. Definitely a dish I’d order again
Swetree is one of the more popular Halal-certified Korean restaurants in KL.
Yuzu Matcha (MYR 16) Ironically, this round greenery cup didn’t belong to me but the monsieur, haha. Such citrusy-matcha combo was rather refreshing.
Reasons to visit The Butter Pantry: charming setting; heaven for the sweet tooth; decent coffee; pretty views; I’d return for the avocado toast and kombucha while Rich would be back for the carrot cake in a heartbeat.
The space is considered quite spacious, with seats by the windows, tables for larger groups and small round tables for couples/two pax/individual diners. Staffs are friendly so you may approach them if you need any recommendations. Come by for a teatime or dessert fix when you are nearby!
Overall, we enjoyed the Korean food at Jal Dae Ji Korean BBQ Restaurant Ampang. The Sundubu Jjigae red stew with tofu gives us a very good impression while the other BBQ pork is comfort food. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, if you could not find one, you probably need to walk slightly further.
My personal preference will be poached chicken or 'white chicken'. I eat this often and wherever and whenever I see them. It is fresh tasting, sweet and the texture is firm.
Diners can enjoy uniquely infused oriental delicacies prepared by dedicated chefs from 15th January 2018 to 2nd March 2018 Every Tamarind restaurant features special gastronomy creations and priced at RM88 per person, including traditional dishes such as noodles, dumplings and fish with unique flavours to welcome a lucky and prosperous year ahead.
It is hard to believe that a restaurant such as Tamarind Springs exists in Kuala Lumpur. Descending the steps through the lush tropics leading to the restaurant’s entrance feels like entering a portal to a different world. Reputed to be one of the most romantic places to dine in town, Tamarind Springs is a timeless fine-dining establishment that features Indochinese and Thai food.
Do come for hot pot and grill seafood meal at The Terrace@ Tamarind Springs. The restaurant also has set menu starting from RM185++ per person for gatherings of not more than 30 people. Fresh cuts of fish, meat, seafood, vegetable and dessert are included in the set
Overall, food is nice, coffee is good, and needless to say, service is friendly and attentive. They offered us extra chairs to put our bags and stuff, seeing that we were so clumsy taking photos while carrying our bags, as the table we secured only have two small chairs. Hahaha. So pai seh. #ThankYou for being so thoughtful, and we really like the tau fu fah with sesame!
Among the side dishes here, I like the salad the most. It taste really refreshing especially after you are eating lots of meats.
If one person likes Chinese cuisine and the other likes seafood dishes, the ideal location for a dinner date may just be in Ibrahim's Fatty Crab Restaurant located along Jalan Avenue 1 in Avenue Ampang, Selangor. The newly-opened Ibrahim's Fatty Crab prides itself in serving the Best Halal Chinese style seafood cuisine and is also big on fresh live seafood, especially crabs, fishes, oysters and lobsters too.
I like to come to this 24-hour outlet as this one houses a McCafe where I can opt to have a fairly decent cup of coffee with my meal...and that's always a plus.
We liked Kangsanae, though it’s perhaps not as smooth an experience as some others in the area. However, the family atmosphere was charming, and I would be happy to return.
