Overall the food is just so so. Most of the people are here just for the quantity. Not the quality. If it hits long weekend, this place is like a warzone. Everything have to fight for it. Fight for table, fight for dim sum. Crazy!
Here's the location.
If there is a particular food that leaves us the most impression, it would be their Teochew Fried Noodle. It is not listed on the menu but once you ask the crew, they will tell you whether it is available. Noodles were fried to al-dente and seasoned nicely.
We were really pleased with our discovery of Seow Fong Lye Cafe. While Ming thought the two dishes were slightly better than average, Max thoroughly enjoyed both the CCF and Char Koay Kak dishes here. While
其实就是一般的咖啡店早餐,不太差,也没有说非常好吃。嘻嘻。
Price is not expensive, it is reasonable and the environment is just so local .. !
Salted Chicken is one of the dishes that make my mouth water. The savoring and the juicy chicken meat are delicious and yummy. For my personal preference, I love the herb's salted chicken. There are also dishes available here for those that looking for lunch or dinner.
Make your choice from the two different varieties – original flavor (RM32) or the herb flavor (RM32). The flesh of the chicken is very tender and is tasty with its natural flavors and touches of salt.
This place is famous with seafood and Asian's style cooking. Located at Macalister Road of Penang where are are a lot of good food surrounding. Reasonable pricing and delicisious cooking, this place suitable for family dining
Our favorite dish of the day was Stir Fried Egg with mock Shark's Fin... the Egg was nicely done with a firm and meaty texture, fresh Crab meat was also introduced to the dish for a touch of Seafood sweetness.
The only thing I could compliment was the texture of the Sushi Rice... which surprisingly alright.
If you’re a fan of sashimi, you can enjoy feasting on Norwegian Salmon, freshly air-flown to the outlet.
Join me on a nostalgic revisit to SKS Golden Food Court (新金山飲食中心) as we uncover the legacy of the classic pancake that has stood the test of time. Nestled in Lebuh Pantai for decades and now passed down to the niece, Miss Pancake continues to mesmerize taste buds with its unique culinary creation.
🦐 Prepare your taste buds for a flavor-packed homecoming as Ah Soon Kor returns to Sin Jing San Coffee Shop! 🏡 After a brief sojourn at another spot, he's back to where it all began, serving his legendary Penang Hokkien Mee. 🍜
At Kakiyuki, not only their Kakigori are must try items but other dessert from their menu is good too.
A bowl of Matcha-goodness, the Matcha Anmitsu is ideal for Matcha lovers. It has everything in a bowl- Matcha Ice Cream, Warabi Mochi, Anmitsu (jellies), Dango, a scoop of Anko as well as some fresh fruits. Refreshingly light on the palate but satisfyingly delicious
Their many produce include their famous Tambon Biscuit, (Tau Sa Peah), Hoong Peah, and the Saseme Seed oil.
Yummy Cottage Food Court is one of the food court that sells a lot of varieties of good food which include the few food that I had tried before, the Chai Kuih, Thai Style Koay Teow Thng are great. This round Hock Chai and I had tried out the Chicken Rice (Kow Loon九龙), Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun and Pan Cake (Bang Chang Kuih) here are marvelous too. For those that looking for varieties of good food under one roof, please visit this place.
This particular stall in Yummy Cottage is one of the few that selling Thai style koay teow thng. The taste of the soup is different from the Penang style, in fact the soup is more similar to Bah Kut Teh soup. The base of the soup is packed with Thai basil leaf fragrance and also the herbs that are used similar to those in Thailand. The taste of this koay teow thng is like bringing us to the Land of Smile.
This is one of the delicious instantly made Chai Kuih. The taste of the Chai Kuih is juicy and soft.
我必会再次回来尝试Creme Brulee Uji Matcha/ Milk Tea,因为Instea Penang Macalister是一个可以买到一杯好茶的好地方。
Many Penang People have been Talikng about the Maggi Goreng here at Restoran Yunus Khan. Among the Chinese, it is better known as 'Jiao Sai' which ...
Jiao Sai (鳥糞) is bird droppings in Hokkien. Restoran Yunus Khan used to be located at Jalan Phee Choon where the road was drenched in bird droppings.
A comforting bowl of Fish Head Bee Hoon is always desirable, especially on a chilly rainy day. If you are into the soupy fish delicacy, look no further than Tong Lek 8 Cafe at Macalister Road (opposite Guang Ming Daily Office). Meal times can be less-stressing as the fish head noodle-specialist offers a vast selection of fish-related noodle dishes as well as some sides at very affordable prices. The regulars love their fresh, thickly sliced fish as well as the add-ons (such as Pork Innards, Seafood etc). Though the seats are narrowly-arranged, the fully air-conditioned restaurant is a decent place to stop by for a quick meal.
We had their Signature Chicken Claypot steamboat, a big whole pot of chicken packed with shallots, and gingers. Besides the continuous heat supplied to the pot, the gingers had warmed us so much that we basically sweat like shower. The soup was rich and nicely seasoned, but it is much suitable for those prefer bolder flavours. However, their service was great by constantly dropping by to check and top up the soup. We wishes the chicken could be much meaty, but equal proportionate of the green versus the chicken is an added point.
Welcome back to our food adventure in Penang, where we've discovered a well known place that serves the most mouthwatering chicken rice at an unbelievably reasonable price of just RM3 per plate. Join us as we take you on a gastronomic journey to Hong Kong Yamcha Corner, located on Macalister Road, and experience this culinary delight that won't break the bank.
For those that looking for aromatic and chargrill flavor fried rice, J Delight is one of the best at town. Run by a few youngsters this stall is packed with energetic and excitement. The Pai Gu Ong (Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs) Fried Rice, Gong Bou (Spicy Stir Fried Chicken) and Salted Egg Chicken Rice Set are their signatures.
The appetizing and addictive Assam Laksa (Rm 3.50) will only be available on every Monday. The rich and flavorful soup has the right balance of sour and spiciness, together with the generously added chunks of fish and the extra touch of Belacan (Shrimp Paste), the pleasingly piquant flavor will linger and tickle your taste buds asking for more. What makes this even more unique is the use of Vermicelli Noodles instead of the usual fatter version of Noodles used in Assam Laksa but of course, some might prefer the texture of the latter one.
The asam pedas fish (sour & spicy fish curry) is a delight with appetising, sour and not too spicy taste. This fish dish is a nice accompaniment to the nasi ulam.
It is advisable to phone and reserve either the day before or early on Thursday morning so that one can be sure of getting the Nyonya Laksa.
One of Penang Kitchen’s specialties is the Grilled Double “Char Siew” Lamb Chop. The grilled lamb chop was beautifully seasoned, and juicy from the ‘sous vide’ style cooking method. Coupled with slight spiciness from the accompanying ratatouille (local eggplant), and cream sauce, the dish is definitely worth your attention.
The plate of flat noodle is fried to possess decent char scent (wok hei), and you can request for a luxury version of Char Koay Teow served with big prawns and mantis prawns for RM 10 per plate. It is mild greasy which makes this plate of Char Koay Teow delicious.
Most of the food here are good and the price is reasonable too. For those that want to try out different type of Penang Street Food, this would be one of the good selection.
The stalls here include Wantan Mee, Hokkien Mee, Koay Teow Thng, Char Koay Teow and Chicken Rice. Most of the food here are good and the price is reasonable too. For those that want to try out different type of Penang Street Food, this would be one of the good selection.
The Pie Tee was pretty standard-average but the bomb was Aunty Anne's home-made Sambal Belacan. Not only was it fiery hot but jam-packed with the aroma of Belacan; giving another layer of dimension to the dishes. We can't help but to request for extra serving of Sambal Belacan.
The restaurant and the set up is pretty simple, bringing some homey but rather elegance feeling. We went at around 2:30pm and it is near their closing time so there were nobody in there.
The cafe is actually having some promotion for this Chinese New Year and to save you the trouble of going to the market, preparing, cooking, and the most tedious part of all, washing, then why not bring your family over to De Wok & Pan Cafe as they are having the semi buffet lunch as well as buffet lunch on the first and second day of Chinese New Year.
RM 28.80 per pax for Prosperity Semi Buffet Lunch (2nd Feb to 10th Feb, except 5th and 6th Feb) and RM 48.80 per pax for Chinese New Year Full Buffet (5th to 6th Feb, 11.30am - 2.30pm). That is a real bargain, considering you will have access to variety of dishes that included fish, lambs and even baby abalone for the full buffet!
