Simple but satisfying, this place is somewhat of a budget checkpoint as well with meat pieces starting from about RM8 and most of them is at RM10 per serving.
Overall the meal was an enjoyable one without any hiccups. Although we felt like we ate a lot, the final bill came to only RM62, not bad at all considering the amount of dishes we ordered.
TweetEmailGerai Makan Japanese BBQ 大众烧肉 is a hidden gem tucked away at the back alley of Plaza Faber at Taman Desa. This Japanese BBQ stall is run and managed by the same people who own Sanuki Udon. The menu is pretty simple with items like pork (pork belly, pork shoulder loin, pork tongue, pork innards), …
Overall, Koyaku Japanese Dining & Grill Faber offers good quality Japanese food with service. Please book your table as it is fully booked during weekend and public holidays.
Meanwhile, my girl friend and I both ordered the Yakiniku Don (RM26) which took super long to arrive - we had to remind them as the tables around us had already ate their food and have left even though we ordered first. Thankfully, when it finally arrived, it tasted good - thin slices of beef with onions topped on rice, along with a cute mini-sized fried quails egg. All the dons came with a miso soup.
This restaurant is so fantastic that it not only serves the authentic Japanese food but also the overall interior decorations are very unique and patriotic.
For fans of Korean BBQs, this is certainly a place to consider for reasonably priced BBQ meats with a twist of wrapping your meat in juicy apple slices. Overall taste was definitely respectable although I can't say if I tasted any difference in the meat being marinated overnight in apple sauce for 24 hours! >_< If you want to eat here, get ready to be drenched in sweat as the place is freakin' warm...even inside the air-conditioned restaurant. The place is open with far too few air-conditioner units to be able to cool the place down. So, it makes little difference if you opt for seats inside or outside...it's still hot! I can just imagine those eating bowls of hot ramyun and sweating bucket loads. So, make sure you have your hair up (ladies and some gentlemen) and wear something minimal light and comfortable when you head here for your "free sauna"...kikiki! :D
Special attention is that the store does not accept the appointment, we directly on the line Walk In on the line!
A great Korean BBQ joint, speciality being the pork (belly, sausage, ribs) which is firstly marinated with apples then cooked over the bbq using apple wood.
Moving on, my personal favourite for the night has to be Pork Hamburg Curry Stew, priced at RM 32 only. It arrived swimming in a puddle of sweet-savoury and slightly spicy Japanese Curry Sauce with a poached egg.
My favourite is the Kushiyaki offering which is a great starter dishes and one of the most perfect dish that can be paired with an order of the Sake. Freshly grilled, and with a dash of salt, it is just addictive to be eaten right from the skewers, Among my favorite are the Chicken Wings, Chicken Gizzard, Pork Belly and Leek. Prices start from RM4++.
The Teppan Asian Beef Striploin is worth the order as they brings you with the tender-licious and juicy meat which is definitely worth to go for. The striploin comes simply juicy and each mouthful is irrestible and delicious. We are really amazed about it and totally in love with the juicy meat.
Nasi lemak - I chose to have long beans, curry potatoes, wild boar curry and small prawns curry with one whole hard boiled egg at MYR 8 nett. I didn't select popular toppings like squid curry, chicken curry and cockles curry.
I can recalled the following: 蝦麵 Har Mee, 板麵 Pan Mee, 爪哇麵 Jawa Mee, 娘惹椰漿飯 Nyonya Nasi Lemak, 素雜飯 Vegetarian mixed rice, 雲吞麵 Wanton Mee, 豬肉粉 Pork noodle; may around 8 hawker stalls.
This means, in addition to fluffy grains of coconut milk rice, spicy-savory sambal, crispy ikan bilis (larger in size than the usual variety), you will also be offered some of her signature pickled pineapple and cucumber relish, which is utterly addictive — so good you can eat it on its own. But what sets Karen’s nasi lemak apart from the rest is the option to add a side of dry curried wild boar. Hardly the most common in town, much less paired with nasi lemak, the wild boar is succulent without being overly gamey, and thanks to the right mix of rempah rendang (Malay curry spices). Don’t forget to tapao (take away) some Nyonya kuih for tea later in the day.
Hearty home-cooked dishes served by a Michelin-Starred Chef? I'M IN! Hong Kong's one-Michelin-starred Pang's Kitchen had finally opened its very first branch outside of Hong Kong late last year! From Happy Valley, HK to Taman Desa, KL, the Malaysian team has recreated the extraordinary Hong Kong dining experience at this humble little shop in Wisma Miramas. Now we don't have to fly all the way to Hong Kong to have a taste of their original recipes!
I would not hesitate to come here again, good and quick service and wonderful yakitori!
The Satsuma Mura, which was the shochu that we ordered came later, was more sharp than the delicate sake.
Went to have the exact Salmon set that I ate almost 7 months ago. The price is still the same at MYR30++ with 5% service charge and 6% GST totaling MYR33.40 nett
Sake (Salmon) set at MYR30++ with 5% service charge and 6% GST totaling MYR33.40 nett. A cup of refillable green tea is MYR1++ (MYR1.10 nett). Tasty meal with miso soup, salmon shioyaki (salt grill), rice, pickled daikon, a small cube of tofu, lettuce and 3 gyozas.
It is located at OBD Garden Tower Condominium. Just inform the security guards that you are here for this Japanese restaurant upon reaching the condominium. Aji-Ya serves a wide variety of Japanese cuisine and it could be quite crowded occasionally thus it is advisable to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Himawari Japanese Cuisine at Taman Desa offer decent Japanese cuisine. This feels like a neighbourhood restaurant offering ‘home cooked’ style Japanese food. If you have craving for decent Japanese food and lazy to drive out of Taman Desa, Himawari Japanese Cuisine is the place to visit.
Food and Sake sampled today was quite good!
Yummy fresh mushroom soup with lots of mushroom chunks.
Wild Honey Scrambled Egg Toasts at MYR 14++ (10% service charge and 6% GST making it MYR 16.35 nett). Portion is not too big, suitable for me.
We are making this a monthly affair. Pork belly breakfast - MYR23.80+ (MYR25.23 nett) - for lunch.
Overall, very nice food experience here!
The Breakfast and Brunch menu offers Pastries, Locals (Prawn Mee or Congee), and Yogurts.
Overall, this place is indeed a great place for pie, cakes or even tea if you are willing to pay slightly more than others. Felt that they use alot of quality ingredients and also the technique that they have put it in to justify on the prices. Worth to give it a try.
Kimchi Chicken Dol-Sod Bap, 16.90 ringgit. If you fancy something simple and not too filling – this could be it. It basically is a bowl with rice + charboiled chicken + Kimchi. It tasted good. The chicken was tender, with a little sweetish flavoring. The rice was sticky and gooey, a few spoonful of the Kimchi soup that came on the side + the chicken, provided a variety of texture and flavor – spicy, sweet, sour and everything else in between. I enjoyed it.
这里的餐点都不至于让钱包太受罪,在这个经济不景气的时代实在是非常具有吸引力的。

D'Catery offers both Western and Chinese variety (menu is not too fancy), located inside the D'Market Grocey at Faber Tower's Ground floor.
This dish was really good. It would have cost us RM 8 but we decided to add on some char siew, hence the additional 2 ringgit. The curry was thick and flavorful, a good portion of curry chicken, springy wan tan noodles with some char siew and tauhu. I wouldn’t usually go for this dish as I am more of a dry wan tan mee fan but my friend ordered this dish and sort of tempt me into trying it and yea, lets just say I ended up eating half of it. Delicious it was.
Worth a try, if you are craving porky dishes, go try. They reputed that their dishes are without MSG. Price is reasonable, and good portion.
Tomyum Seafood Fried Rice was recommended, it apparently was one of their most popular option for fried rice. After having a taste, I totally agree. It was really good. The rice had plenty of the Tomyum flavor and then put if some squids, prawns … ooo yes, very nice!
"Coffee Box" provides a cozy environment for dining with local favorites like Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Toast, Char Koay Teow as well as western choices.
The Bar can be seen easily from Jalan Desa Bakti right after SMK Taman Desa.
