Lunch 1: Dong Gui Fish Chop at Mama Kim, Jalan Pahang at MYR 15++ (6% Service Charge and 6% SST = MYR 16.80 nett). My friend gave me her portion of salad. I like that they include steamed carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes in this dish but the vegetables could be steamed longer to be softer. They are too hard for my weak teeth.
In summary, the dishes at Mama Kim (especially Sauna Mee) are generally delectable.
This pear dessert is sweet with a few dates and one fig. It is served warm. My friend gave me a surprise treat.
Khao Pad Thai RM9.90 Fried rice with shrimp paste, chicken, and shredded egg. I can't believe that this Fried Rice tasted so nice! I am a fan of fried rice, so when I was enjoying this dish. I can give almost full star of this fried rice, the fragrance of the fried rice was fried evenly. Not too oily or spicy, eat it with the chicken was so perfect!
这里的环境舒适,而且食物价格不贵,在Setapak想吃泰国街边小吃的话,可以来这里试一试!
Diners get options of Soong Kee’s Beef Balls Noodles (RM8.90) served dry or soup as well as option of their original Hakka noodles or thin meehoon. We tried the four combinations and found ourselves enjoying the dry version with thin meehoon as our top favorite followed by the Hakka dry version.
Our recent visit to Soong Kee in Setapak is an enlightening experience – we discovered new things to enjoy in addition to getting reacquainted with the tried and tested
♥Verdict: Definitely a well worth checking out place for beef noodles lovers! Beef noodles (both Hakka noodles and Meehoon), Five Spice Tendon, Wonton Noodles and Steamed Chicken are a few dishes that I personally highly recommend. Service was warm and prices are fair. Now Soong Kee is reopened after being away for 47 days since 18 March for delivery/take away (self pick up). Refer HERE on how to place order.
Minimalist design but spacious. Find your favourite spot, and get ready for coffee, order at the counter. Currently, Kalico food menu offers selection like Nasi Lemak with Daging Rendang, Nasi Lemak with Kapitan, Big Breakfast, French Toast, Shashouka, Chicken Salad, Smoked Salmon Salad, Chicken Avocado Salad, Egg Kewpie Sandwich. They would probably expand the menu, in near future.
Occupying a bungalow lot, Kalico is the newest cafe on this side of Lake Titiwangsa. Love the Fudgy Brownie here. Meals are also served here.
Compared to some cafes, the desserts are reasonably priced. Among the trio of desserts we ordered, the Fudgy Brownie (RM9) was the most outstanding. It was perfectly moist, dense and slightly gooey – exactly as the name implies. We loved that it was served slightly warm. Compliments to the baker!
Overall I was having fun and yummy experience at Taiwan Tea House. I love how they prepared the food and the price is really affordable. Definitely will be back here for more yummy Taiwan meal again.
Tekak orang Malaysia, memang nasi menjadi menu wajib bukan!

Verdict: Overall, our dining experience at E Farm Restoran was relatively pleasant with good portion food and reasonable price. It’s a restaurant that I don’t mind returning for.
Boring of having meal at Bukit Tinggi? Further down the road from Kuala Lumpur (towards Bentong), there is one of the popular recommended restaurant, “E-Farm” at Genting Sempah HERE. Address: Lot 16165, Jln Genting Sempah, Genting Sempah, 28750 Bentong, Pahang. Contact: 019 477 2667 Coming here for …
Interesting place for lunch, parking could be quite a challenge during the weekend. Tasty food, fresh seafood.
Do you fancy a cuppa tea and scones? If that’s a definite YES, check out Miss Ellie Tea House – our favorite place for homely and reasonably priced scones.
Reasons to visit: charming setting; welcoming family feel; some of the best homemade desserts and cakes in the city; great value comfort meals made with heart.
Bangers & Mash, 17.50 ringgit. Okay, if you guys have visited the UK, you’d most probably heard/know of Bangers & Mash. They take their bars seriously over there and this dish in particular is served in almost every bar. To find a relatively good cafe/restaurant locally that serves Bangers & Mash is kindda hard to come by. The one served here though – YUMMM ! Really good stuff. The mash potatoes were as smooth as butter and literally melts in your mouth. The chicken sausages – da bomb. Soft, meaty, chewy, tasty. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
Great Company & Good Value ~ Practically sums up my lovely evening at Golden Valley
So, one of my favourite dishes from Golden Valley is their famous chilli crabs, so imagine my delight when I heard that the crabs were available for delivery too! Priced at RM160 per kg, each crab weighs around 600g and comes with complimentary 6 pieces of mantao. It was absolutely fantastic and finger licking good; the boy loved the big meaty, sweet claws and the sauce was just as amazing as we remembered it. We loved it..best chilli crab in KL! Highly recommended!
Cakes and Bakes are the highlights of the Cafe, enjoyed the light afternoon lunch and Tim's Teapot Terrance is definitely worth another visit when opportunity arises.
Really some good Michelin claypot Chicken Rice. Fragrant with their special black sauce, nicely cooked so you won't get too much burnt rice, and the children is actually tasty and juicy. Also..
Claypot chicken rice 1 pax @ RM 8 (if I remember correctly) is filled with fresh chicken that is well marinated and Chinese sausage.. Soft and juicy that cook to perfection. Best of all, it comes with a slab of salty fish. (you have an option not to have it). But it is a must have ingredient for me in my claypot chicken rice.
If you are enticed to try it, you can get it at a unnamed claypot chicken rice stall at Jalan Ipoh. This little food haven is a ‘wai sek kai’ of sorts filled with various food stalls selling different kinds of food throughout the day. And that’s not counting a couple of other coffee shops nearby that offer the usual hawker fares.
Just came here for the Hainanese Tea. Friend say it is her Top 3 place in Kepong.
Instead of ordering from their preset menu, I usually customize my order to include only the seafood I felt like having. Oyster is a must for me because it’s so hard to get really fresh ones in the city. This time, I went slightly overboard while ordering so the noodle cost me RM27.50. But as you can see, it was loaded with plenty of seafood so it’s worth the price.
Reasons to take a day trip from Kuala Lumpur to A Little Farm on the Hill: a beautiful day trip from KL; authentic farm to table concept – literally all of the produce is grown just metres from your table and plucked the morning of the lunch; a relaxed afternoon; fabulous food.
You can enjoy the ‘Little Farm on the Hill‘ dining experience Wednesday through to Sundays but bookings are only taken for larger groups with a minimum spend of RM2000. However, on the long-awaited first Sunday of each month, the farm hosts a Farmer’s Lunch Club which caters for about 60 hungry guests.
The lush green hills of Bukit Tinggi and the organic farm growing the freshest of produce set the backdrop. Today we are here for the monthly Farmer’s Luncheon, which is a farm-to-table experience and we are in for a true feast! Its idyllic surrounding makes A Little Farm on the Hill an enchanting venue for our weekend getaway and luncheon.
Reasons to visit: pretty green location; refreshing mocktails if you have a sweettooth; my favourite dish is the Parmesan Crusted Panko Chicken; excellent coffee – the house espresso blend is very good and you must give the nitro coffee a try.
Jibby东菜单涵盖和谐的泛亚洲和西方美食。
Claypot Chicken Rice (Large), 17 ringgit It was really good. Besides good flavor, the rice in a good claypot chicken rice has a crisp texture to it. While the top part is often dense, soft and chewy, the bottom should be crispy, somewhat more solid than the top … and here, it ticked all the box.
It is an old corner house with covered extension of an old housing scheme surrounded by Chong Hwa Chinese School and highrise apartments. It is popular and always crowded with people savouring their claypot chicken rice. It is advisable to go there early or later part of their business time in order to get a table without much waiting. We went there about 8.40pm (kind of after peak hour) and was able to get one easily but the soup were all sold out.

Shopping for fruit for Chinese New Year. The prices are indeed cheaper with a good variety.
Indian Shell Out @ RM 100.00 It is really rare to see this kind of Indian Shell Out and that too one that is being served on Banana Leaves. For me, it was a wonderful meal. The mix of fish, clams, mussels, shrimps, squid, crabs, chicken, veggies and corn that came in a mildly spicy sambal like preparation was just heavenly. It was so good and I wouldn't mind returning again for another round of excellent food. Do note that this is only available during the weekends and a set for four pax is priced at RM 100.00 . Excellent food and lovely ambiance.
The Crabby Chick Stack – now, this I like lots lots. For 22 ringgit, this was an awesome burger. I do not come across many eatery that serves soft shell crab at 22 ringgit. That is considered rather low/cheap. Let me break down the items for you. You’d get soft shell crab on the top + burger buns + lettuce + crispy and tender chicken patty + tomatoes and onions, with a side of fries, for just 22 ringgit. The burger itself was yummy. Do expect a combination of textures and flavors. Some crunch, some chewyness. Nice.
Overall, we really enjoyed both dishes here at Restoran Pan Heong.
