First of all, we enjoyed the food, the loved the service and the design of this café. Parking is not an issue but probably it is packed during weekends. The prices of the food is manageable and we don’t mind coming back again at The Mechanic Café Dataran Cheras Balakong. =)
Matcha Raspberry is a small surprise of the day, the appearance is exquisite, the taste is also very layered, it is the heart of Xiaobian's heart~
Carbonara: Linguine, 16 ringgit. This was delicious! Every mouthful was creamy and gooey. If you fancy yourself a plate of rice, decadent noodles – this should totally do it for you. They had generous amount of chicken sausage scattered everywhere with some tomatoes, which only made it all the more delicious. Yum!
The fruit rojak was yummy. There were lots of fruits – mangoes, papaya, cucumber with a nice sprinkle of crushed peanuts and prawn crackers. Yum
Banana Waffle with Ice Cream – Lightly crispy outside, fluffy soft inside waffle, accompanied by banana, ice cream and chocolate sauce. Classic and simple. Original Waffle with Ice Cream, Wheat Waffle with Ice Cream, Meat Floss Waffle are available too. Price is reasonable, not more than RM10 for waffle choices.
Their specialty is rojak – (for the non-Malaysians reading this, it’s a type of salad. But definitely not the healthy kind lol), since one of the people running the place is the son of the couple who run the famous Rojak Wan stall in TTDI! I never used to like rojak until I had Rojak Wan’s – the beautiful combination of fresh fruits and veggies, tossed in a thick shrimp paste sauce and topped with crunchy crackers, fried Chinese crullers and ground nuts – is simply divine.
Food at Tien Xia Restaurant Balakong Temple is definitely good and the food prices are reasonable. It can be very crowded on the evenings but this is worth the trip for good food. This is Tien Xia Restaurant in Balakong Temple. Thanks for reading and enjoy the food.

Overall, the food at Ken Well Seafood Restaurant Cheras Batu 11 are pretty decent. There are no big surprises in terms of taste while the food prices here are reasonable

南洋冰室的烘焙类我都很推荐,水准不差,只是价位很高,比很多知名的烘焙店都来得贵呢~

Bookafe Café is truly a hidden gem at Balakong Cheras. The food is good, huge portion with café pricing. It is matter of time, we will go back again for their lovely food.
We started our meal here with their Hanging Muddy Wheel (RM 15.90). The MUST have in Cups Café, one definitely must enjoy this wholesome famous home baked bagel dipped with the chef’s special sauce hanged over a bowl of roasted tomato soup to perfection. The soup comes simply creamy with the robust flavours. We love the way the bagel coated with creamy fragrant cheese and dipped them into the tomato soup. It is just super awesome!

The taste is pretty good, the taste of the sauce is spot on, they are pretty generous with the eggs in the sauce, the fresh water prawn is fresh and it is worth it. What we felt is missing the fragrant of the Chinese wine, maybe a spoon or two more will enhance the flavour of the sauce.
Red Gold Steamboat is known more for well, steamboat, but this is THE DISH you have to try if you are here for 煮炒摊 “tze char”.

We went to Restoran Wing Hao Dim Sum Balakong twice and the food is consistent and taste is better than most dim sum restaurant out there. The pricing is standard pricing compare with other dim sum restaurants in Klang Valley and we will definitely come back for more. We recommend their homemade pao for takeaway too.
Overall, the taste of the food at Sam Steam Fish Head Cheras Batu 11 is very good and their food prices are very reasonable. It was packed during our visit just now and we will come back for more.
Wagyu Teppanyaki RM120 (120g) Simply cooked it on an iron griddle, to maximize the naturally great flavor of Wagyu beef by using minimal seasoning. Then, serve along with 2 different sauces which is miso sauce and yuzu sauce. Personally, i think it pair well with yuzu sauce, It was refreshing, zesty and enliven its rich umami and the exquisite taste of Wagyu.

We were happy to learn about Rumah Asap Borneo KL, a new restaurant in Cheras serving Borneo cuisine. Rumah Asap Borneo KL operates a food court concept, whereby you will find several stalls, each serving their own specialty within the shoplot. Simply place your order at the stall, grab a table and the food will be served to your table. Drinks order will be taken by the waiting staff at your table.

Bao Set (Salted Egg Fried Chicken), 15.90 ringgit. The Bao was awesome. It is quickly becoming a trend these days. More and more cafes are offering this buns with fillings as starters or main meals but they usual come in a mini size. The ones served here are different because it actually comes in a large size, similar to the ones you’d get when you buy Kaya, Lotus Baos. In this case, it did resemble the size of a burger bun. This is after all a Bao Burger and it certainly did work well as a substitute. The Bao was soft and dense, has a springy effect, awesome! Eating it on its own was yummy, having it with salted egg gravy/sauce and chewy, meaty fried chicken? Delicious! I would certainly go for this dish again.

The Char Siew was da bomb! Sweet, sticky, chewy with just the right amount of fats – ooooo man, it was delicious. The Chicken was meaty, juicy and tender. The Bean Sprouts was well, as bean sprouts should taste and the soup… all their soups are double boiled apparently. They start off by cooking the broth with bones and letting the flavors soak in and then mix the other ingredients in. So, at the end of the day, you would get thick, flavorful broth as oppose to the usual watery, thin soup. Yummy!
