It has been 2 years since the last time I visited Miri. I see a lot of new buildings, new malls and new beaches that are opened. I am truly happy to see the Oil Town Miri is back to its glory. At Tanjong Lobang Beach, there is a new chained Japanese restaurant which is originated at Brunei. It is called Excapade Sushi Japanese Restaurant. Now they have expanded to Miri. I used to dine in this restaurant at Brunei which you can check out the post here.
Way satisfied than Sushi King! Even though it's on the pricier side, but the foods are definitely worth it. The tastes are better, the meats are juicier... hahah. I would suggest you to book a spot so you don't need to rush and not enjoy the food! Now I know why people from Miri would drive out to Brunei just for a taste of these :D
So I ordered the one here (RM7.50)…- the Hainanese curry chicken rice to try. It was all right – I felt that the curry gravy was a little too thick with too much santan (coconut milk). There was no char siew (barbecued pork) but they did give a few slices of those freshly-made Chinese sausage
This is simply the Musang King of Hainan chicken rice, too delicious!

Introducing our Mee Jawa and Mee Jawa Ayam. It is an original Javanese recipe tweaked to our Sarawakian taste-buds. . The thick soup made from sweet potatoes and curry spices, and egg can shower your taste buds with satisfaction. The soft egg noodles together with the bean sprouts made crunchy-soft sounds is sure to make you ask for more!
Our Nasi Lemak is RM6 per serving that comes with chicken wing, fried egg and sambal! For our American Breakfast, each set comes with 2 toasts, 2 sausages and scrambled eggs that will only cost you RM5. Yes you read that right. RM5 only for a plate of goodies!
Chill and Relax Cafe Bistro or most people call them Chillax for short is one of the popular places that people recommend to me for dinner and drinks! When I checked out the place – it was full house but luckily for me – I made reservations with them before arriving so I got a nice table.

A lot of stalls can claim to have the authentic foo chow kampua mee but few can actually achieve the true taste of Sibu’s kampua mee. Fortunately for me, my sis in law brought us to this place in Miri that has brought back the good memories of me enjoying a good plate of Sibu Kam Pua Mee ~~ if you are in Miri ~~ you can now eat the flavour of your Sibu childhood memories ~~
A specialty in Sarawak, kolo mee (literally ‘dry’ noodles) is characterised by its springy, al dente texture, and is served tossed in a light sauce instead of dark soy sauce which is more popular in Peninsula Malaysia. They are usually served with a side of soup, and topped with bits of meat, fried onion and spring onion for crunch. The version here did not disappoint, with the right balance of flavours. I especially liked the springiness of the noodles! 🙂
