While the offering at the Carvery was not extensive, it compensates with good quality ingredients and execution, all in a classy setting.
The service here was alright, just that the plates were not cleared fast. The food quality here was not bad.
We were once again impressed by the food served at The Carvery, therefore, no doubt we recommend Park Hotel Alexandra Spanish-inspired Yuletide Celebration.
Jiakpalang Eating House is an up-and-coming casual restaurant along Alexandra Road that offers local Zi Char dishes with a twist.
Overall, I think that Jiakpalang is promising, but it needs some fine tuning here and there, especially in terms of its identity and the naming of some of the dishes.
What else can I say apart from visit and be wowed? Chef tasting menus are available by the counter and I am dying for a return!
It’s a perfect place to catch up with old pals and relax after a long day.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar is the latest brainchild of Chef Helios Goncalves from Boca (we could've guessed from his signatures that seem all too familiar!). Unlike the other Blue Lotus outlets, this focuses more on Mediterranean cuisine.
Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar was exceeded above my expectation. NAHMJ highly recommend to all.
Palatable, highly wallet-friendly dishes at Soi Thai Soi Nice New Menu is worth visiting with family and friends.
The broth is actually on the sweet side for me, it didn't have the characteristic spicy kick in authentic Thai cuisine. Nevertheless the hot pot brimming with ingredients is a luscious enjoyment on its own. I noticed almost every table has a pot of it on their table.
Some of my favourites were the Grilled Pork Neck, the egg dishes, and the sticky rice ice cream dessert. We left the restaurant as happy diners, and will definitely be back again for more.
Jin Ho Mia @ Alexandra Retail Centre is good for someone who look for simple and healthier meal or just catch up with your friends for a pint of beer there.
Jin Ho Mia—which means ‘a really good life’ in Hokkien—is the newest addition to the Alexandra Retail Centre that serves up rice and salad bowls for lunch and hot pots for dinner.
As a whole, I found the food at Jin Ho Mia mediocre and unworthy of the price.
One thing you really shouldn’t miss is their larger than usual assortment of Tempura Agemono for you to sample.
I've finally figured out the right things to order at Qin Ji: the liangpi, along with this.
I'd be interested in coming back to try their other soups and roujiamo fillings.
a place i will come back again.
By the owners’ admission, this venture is a safe place for them to test waters on a steady clientele, gradually improving their food while having complete control over their space.
The seafood pancake is one of our favourite items at Korean restaurants. The one at Auntie Kim’s is not one of our favouri
Hot and cold beverages as well as muffins, salad and sandwiches were available for takeaway. Their coffee, brewed from Toby Estate beans, was good.
Despite being a western bistro, I am surprised that Atmosphere Bistro does very good Asian rice bowls; the Asian pastas didn’t really impress me enough though.
In Singapore, Fatty Cheong at ABC Market is synonymous with "bu jian tian" 不见天 char siew to go with their egg noodles or plain rice.
There are 2 stalls by the same name in this food centre by the same owner, the original stall is to focus on roasted meat and the newer stal...
The char siew was nice.
Ang Ku Kueh is a traditional Chinese cake made to look like a tortoise shell; hence the name that translates to red tortoise cake, although ...
Everything at Poh Cheu Soon Kueh And Ang Ku Kueh is still made from scratch daily by the family, so you can be assured of the quality control here.
Apart from ang ku kueh, Poh Cheu is popular for their soon kueh as well.
We enjoyed the Samsui chicken at Keng Eng Kee. Tender juicy sweet poached free range chicken eaten with mild grated ginger wrapped in crunchy lettuce.
It now offers island-wide delivery, bringing its delicious food to every corner of Singapore.
They have gotten a good supplier for their seafood, which is fresh.
I would definitely return for their shrimp wontons, and I wish they sold frozen ones so I could have them whenever I like.
Although this stall specializes in soya sauce chicken, it is their sui kow and soup that impresses me more.
I enjoyed the Shrimp Dumpling though.
Also, I like my Laksa fiery spicy but, despite adding the sambal chilli provided, I still find the spiciness too mild for me.
Depot Road claypot laksa is nice as it has its own unique style and sweet tasting profile. It's a mild, friendly laksa, especially good for introducing the dish to the uninitiated. I would have it again, if I am in the area.
I liked it so much that I nearly went back for a second bowl before realizing that that would be too much coconut milk in one day.
With no dine-in allowed for the next few weeks, no thanks to the enhanced measures for Phase 2 (Heightened Alert); I was wondering where I s...
Remember to drop by to give their muffins a try the next time you are around Alexandra!
This seemingly run-of-the-mill bakery in Alexandra Village Food Centre is a wildcard in a food centre that’s famous for their avocado drinks and delectable local food.
The minced meat noodle stall is opened on alternate Sundays, so do take note as they have a sign in the shop stating if they’ll be open this Sunday. Come get your Bak Chor Mee fix here today!
Seng Hong Coffee Shop is one of those last surviving old school coffee shop that seemed untouched by time.
I love how "crunchy" the mee kia is. Well, not crispy crunchy but al dente crunchy.
Known for their rich flavor given the high salinity of the Red Sea, the red prawns exhibited fresh crunchiness with a deep, endearing sweetness. p.s. I always eat prawns with their shells as I am lazy to peel them and it's extra calcium for the body.
Alexandra Village Food Centre welcomes Chef Goo, a seafood-centric stall that offers Hokkien mee and crab meat fried rice! Read more.
Chef Goo’s rich and heady pork and seafood broths make its dishes stand out from its counterparts. While there were some hits and misses, overall I really enjoyed the Hokkien mee and pork leg bee hoon. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t travel all the way just for their fried rice or pao fan.
