Their Oyster Omelette was really fragrant!
I would recommend to go for their a la carte dishes like Pork Meatball Soup though.
All in all, the rojak is very interesting. The owners are really kind to have had thought of our friends with seafood allergies since 20 years ago. I would recommend the rojak also because the fruits were fresh and the chilli had a good kick too!
Teochew fishball noodle usually exhibits a unique style that i find irresistible but this stall fails to reflect that style; rendering it to just any normal fishball noodle stalls spread out all over Singapore, albeit one that's slightly better than the average.
A place that would be a great wind-down spot in the neighbourhood especially for those living in the area, especially with some tweaking of the menu.
This is so as to be environmentally-friendlier, and they have specially picked out glasses that are easy for customer to sip from.
Simple meal. Affordable prices. Worth eating.👍
The first hawker in Singapore to be located in a community club, here is the list of 17 must try stalls at Ci Yuan Hawker Centre.
This was really wow – a really thick and viscous porridge, with maximum flavour, and generous ingredients. The sliced pork and pork balls were really tender and sweet and slightly peppery, and the century egg nicely pungent.
Sin Heng Kee Porridge is renowned for its traditional Teochew-style porridge, a beloved comfort food here. The eatery boasts a long-standing history, attracting a dedicated following of locals and tourists alike.
Best Congee In Singapore I had so far!
The bigger may not always be the better here. Yes, the regular-sized bowl is great for a quick lunchtime meal.
Staff at Tiew Mai is mainly Thai, and offers a certain level of authenticity. If only more people knew about Hougang Midtown.
Overall, Tiew Mai Thai Boat Noodle does seem to have the potential especially given that the Thai boat noodles here have more hits than misses.
While I enjoyed their spicy and sweet curry sauce and was impressed by their Salmon Aburi Onigiri, their fried sides were disappointingly small in size and lacking in flavour
Otoko is one of the newest additions to this Hougang enclave. This humble Japanese eatery first started out as a stall in a coffee shop at Sultan Plaza offering quality and comforting Japanese Donburi at affordable prices.
The idea of customising your own Japanese Curry Rice was fun, interesting and reasonably priced.
I was glad that I found SOD Cafe @ Ci Yuan Community Club retained their standard at this revisit.
For the amount they charge, 5 Star Corner is really generous with their portions! If you are hungry and looking for options that will fill you up, consider making a trip here!
Apart from the IG-worthy ambience and popping background music, I was mostly disappointed by the offerings at Icebar.
I was happier with this one, although I am kinda curious about their spiciest one next time.
Pepper Lunch has recently introduced 8 tantalizing new items to ensure that all palates are pleased!
There is also plenty of parking space, and big round tables – perfect for family gatherings! If you like, you can also opt for the chef’s recommended salted egg crab too.
AM Bakery recommends all breads to be consumed within 3 days from the day of purchase. The breads are good for 5 days if they are kept in the refrigerator. It is best to consume the pastries by the next day.
I will definitely vote this as one of the best bak chor mee in Singapore.
Apart from the pork chop bun, the UFO bun (太空包) seem equally popular as well.
You can sit by the window and admire the view outside. It overlooks a huge field.
Although Foxhole cafe is relatively new, it is one of those cafes that I would return again and again as there are more hits than misses.
Service was decent though there was an instance where the staff served us the Ham & Cheese Croissant telling us it was the Chili Crab Croissant (my dining partner does not eat seafood) — things that can definitely be improved on.
Brostern angles itself as an affordable Western food stall and what it offers is definitely value for money.
