aficionados should definitely give Starter Lab Singapore’s handcrafted sourdough a try; also a laid back place for breakfast & good coffee.
Starter Lab – Bakery at Havelock Road
The high prices are a result of their labour-intensive process and commitment to quality ingredients, both of which are well worth shelling out for.
I have been raving about Burger Labo amongst my friends but its price tag for its single-patty basic burger, at S$25, is a bit hard for me ...
Tucked away in the very ulu Henderson Industrial Park, 2280 Burger serves up gourmet beef burgers and fries at affordable prices. Read more.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
Exquisite dim sum in a grandiose luxurious ambiance inspired by the heydays of grand Shanghai.
I must say, the gift box for the rice dumplings was rather nice. Elegant and stylish in lovely green. Quite sturdy too!
Very nice brownie. Salty caramelly and complex. Dense yet very biteable.
BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers offers good food and affordable prices in the CBD, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
Not bad. Enjoyed it. Bacon was candied.
I did like the har cheong gai above, as its breading was surprisingly light and crunchy, and yet it still packed some good prawn paste stank. That made it fun to eat, even if I still somehow like the denser way that Hong Sheng does it.
Many of the items were a bit sweet, so I wasn't a big fan.
I love the Euro-Asian flavours for the dishes I had at Sonder. There is finesse in the various courses where the flavours for each dish comes out quite strongly. The industrial location also adds to the charm of the restaurant which is quite a destination dining.
The dinner experience was pleasant, and we were seated at the bar counter with open kitchen concept.
Love the savoury chilli packing respectable heat.
he fried bee hoon is not too oily and goes well with the fried shallots and chili sauce.
There is fried intestine porridge on the menu! And according to reviews, they did a mean rendition of fried bee hoon as well.
A must-try dishes here are the Pork Jowl, Chilli Crab Rillette, LA Galbi Beef and Sticky Date Pudding.
The prices of the food at Garang Grill are affordable and worth the money considering the portions given and quality of ingredients used.
However, this Garang Grill unfortunately felt and tasted like a poorer sibling of the original. Perhaps also some tweaking of the menu is needed, to attract diners in the vicinity.
Couple that with wok-hei infused dishes that's fired using high-grade wok, we were totally sold on the menu.
This is pretty worth it in my opinion, as you can pick from items such as a half-grilled unagi, lemon and thyme half spring chicken, fried beef hor fun, pork leg bee hoon and more!
Overall, I have eaten at Ah Orh at least 3 to 4 times over the years and I do notice that in my recent visit, the standard of the dishes is not on par with previous years.
Ah Orh Teochew Food Delivery / Takeaway
Very fat, creamy, salty and fresh oysters, on top of a fragrant and unoily egg omelette.
Alkaff Mansion, top restaurant in Singapore, great food, in a great location, with great staff you really can’t go wrong - Beefsteak & Burgundy!
17 reviews of Alkaff Mansion Ristorante "I would do 3.5, but it's closer to a 4 than a 3. average-ly italiano at this quite gorgeous venue hidden up in telok blangah. it's a surprising location, until you realize it's situated in a quite…
A worthy place to be at if you have a special reason to be there.
The porridge was gloopy and textural like a good Hainanese porridge.
The well-seasoned pork balls are like little flavor bombs. I think tung choi was also added in the pork mixture. I feel they should only add tung choi to either the porridge or the pork balls. The saltiness is a little overkill here.
As with all new businesses, the first few couple of days are bound to have hiccups so be patient with them as they iron out the issues.
I would 100% head down to visit her stall again for both the mee siam and lontong! Continue reading at Miss Tam Chiak: https://www.misstamchiak.com/jia-xiang/
While many have said that their standard has dropped, I still like it!
I highly recommend visiting this stall as it is at a relatively centralised location of Singapore.
By Chef Pang Kok Keong. Oily and fragrant, nicely cooked chewy noodles and umami meat filled yong tau foo.
Very soon, you will be able to enjoy grilled seafood at night as Hakka Pang will switch to a ‘seafood shack’ concept called Guppies. Expect a variety of grilled fish and seafood served with different dips.
Pang’s Hakka Noodles, Yong Tau Foo and Fishballs at The Sprout Hub (on the ground of the former Henderson Secondary School).
Although we finally get to it here, we did not have enough stomach for other items on the menu. I will like to try out more of their recommended dishes on the menu. Let's make a return trip soon!
Makko Teck Neo is definitely a hidden gem located in a sleepy old neighbourhood.
Overall, we are glad that Makko Teck Neo Metropolis has opened. A good Peranakan restaurant is always welcome in the Buona Vista / Ghim Moh neighbourhood.
Seng Hong Coffee Shop is one of those last surviving old school coffee shop that seemed untouched by time. Visit them while you still can before they bite the dust in this fast paced society.
I love how "crunchy" the mee kia is. Well, not crispy crunchy but al dente crunchy. The marvelous old-school tossing sauce is just enough to coat the noodles without being too wet. You definitely have to ask for their chili sauce even if you cannot take the heat because it is really amazing.
The minced meat noodle stall is opened on alternate Sundays, so do take note as they have a sign in the shop stating if they’ll be open this Sunday. Come get your Bak Chor Mee fix here today!
This is arguably one of the best Char Kway Teow and it's really a classic. The uncle has been plying his trade for decades with more of the time being a one-man show. I won't say it's the best but it's definitely one of the better ones in this trade.
The uncle was methodical, frying each plate one by one. His stall was really clean and neat too. But the queue seemed to have grown from when I remembered it. I think I waited for 30 to 40 minutes.
I will be back with my dad because I think people of his generation would love Loh’s cha kuay teow.
