Super favorite was this Black Vinegar Pork Trotter - the sourness that comes with slight sweetness gave a really good kick to my senses once I sipped the soup. Each sip had me thinking, its sour, but its so good. Not a fan of fatty meat, but I sure know its a good source of collagen. Take it anyhow.
The food is also quite affordable. As this was a treat from our friends, I am not too sure about the prices of each dish.
With such split results, this one is a difficult one to call. I’d say this place warrants a repeat visit once in a while; they do serve some truly standout dishes. Just come armed with an umbrella next time, and be prepared to pay what you expect.
Set lunch of Kembong fish, fried egg, vegetables and rice for MYR 11 nett. We also ordered a big bowl of Kau Kee (cekur manis), egg, pork and liver slices soup to share at MYR 16 nett.
How? What should I say? Honestly, such a confusing matter once we tucked in. Both of us, my other half-half and myself were of lost for words. We really couldn't digest the saltiness of soy sauce and fish, goodness me, we could hardly chew. Egg and blanched leafy veg? I don't think I want to say anything. Maybe best said as the basic or the usual.
Our meal with soft drinks and a pot of Chinese tea cost us less than RM15.00 each. We went off the place feeling satisfied and happy.
Our all time favorite is the claypot mutton curry.
The basic Banana Leaf Rice Meal comes with three vegetables, Pudina Chutney, Mango Pickles, Pickled Chilli and free flow of curries. I would say that the spread was good and the veggies were fresh and tasty. My rating for their veggies shall be 8/10
What do We Like about 驰名 荣昌 猪什汤 Rong Chang Pork Soup? -A simple bowl of tasty pork soup and tasty yam rice
The rm$8 燒肉咖喱麵 Roasted pork Curry noodle comes with thick curry broth with generous 米粉麵 beehoon mee, 燒肉 roasted pork, 鳥蛤科 cockles, 長豆 long beans, 豆卜 taufu pok, 豆腐皮 beancurd skin, and 豆芽 bean sprout. Tasty but not too spicy!
What do We Like about Restoran Ahwa PJ 222? -The many variety of foods serve by the various stalls. Everyone will find what they like for dinner or supper -The bright and airy environment even though there are many stalls preparing the food. We did not feel the stuffiness at all
Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Mee is one of our favourite noodles. Restaurant Ahwa (新青山亚华福建面) located in Jalan 222, Petaling Jaya serves one of the best Hokkien Mee, and it has been our favourite go-to place to satisfy our Hokkien Mee cravings.
Another excellent lard-laden dinner with brother and nephews in Petaling Jaya.Lor mee, Cantonese hor fun and vermicelli, Cantonese egg noodles and the unpara...
整体来说,环境和气氛是很棒的,食物稍微贵一些,味道是不错,大部分都是好吃和满意的,如果跟喜欢的人或闺密来用餐,一定很享受吧.
There’s always room for dessert no matter how stuffed you are – and we obliged to an Earl Grey Mousse with Vanilla Ice Cream and Crumble. 10 points for presentation – it looked like something out of a fine dining establishment. The mousse was exquisite, and I liked how they served it with a ball of white chocolate and boba pearls; an excellent combination.
Yes, here is the main food and wine with music. Like music and red wine, maybe this place will be for you.
Guess most of the first timer like us would never notice unless neighbouring table keeps having this pile of goodies on their table – Premium Pork Sirloin Thin Cut! This premium cut has the same texture as you had (just thicker) in Bar.B.Q Plaza, taste so “masitda” (delicious in Korean) and gets better while dipping with sweet bean paste sauce. 😉
I will definitely come back to visit again and also recommend it to my friends who love korean BBQ ! So worth it <3
Yes, you are right! All you can eat with refilled unlimitedly with only Rm27 for lunch and Rm29 for dinner. I like the interior very much where it have the local Korea feel.
Food rating 8/10 , nicee, for a stall on the road side Recommended! -Stamped-
The restaurant is small with friendly and casual atmosphere. Patrons are mostly family. There are private rooms for big groups in the restaurant too. The restaurant is pack during weekend. Sometimes you have to wait to be seat for at least 30 minutes. Their service is good, they will quickly go to you if you need anything. Although the restaurant is crowded most of the time, but they are very efficiency, your foods can be served quickly.
Bila sampai je set Salmon Butteryake tuh, aku rase set tuh besar. 2 hiris salmon yang besar digoreng dengan butter. Bukan deep fried ek? Ada miso sup & seaweed, pickles (kubis), pickles cucumber, cili padi potong (ahaha…Japanese???), tembikai & plain rice.
Soft Shell Crab Maki (RM26.00/serving) Crispy, fried soft shell crab stuffed within sushi rice, fish roe, and cucumbers, wrapped with traditional Japanese seaweed. We really enjoyed this :)
Overall, I love the homely and humble atmosphere at Ah Sang and it is absolutely my favourite Bak Kut Teh shop in Kuala Lumpur. When I have time, I will travel the distance just to eat Ah Sang and not the ones in central KL and I will definitely recommend anyone who is in KL to try them out
One of the best around. Even better than those I frequent in Kepong. If you have not been to Sungai Way it's high time to make the trip.
We’ve checked out a lot of pork noodles in KL/PJ, and Siong Pin still comes out on top. We find the broth to be perfectly balanced and not too heavy on soy sauce. Each bowl is cooked individually to ensure freshness and consistency of taste.
阿來魚頭米粉 Ah Lai Fish Head Noodles Highly recommended!
definitely worth revisiting for breakfast here again very soon in the future.
The Restoran is a old-time Kopitiam maybe since 70s, not sure any owner changes but it has been around for as long as I know.
Food is cheap here, 8 ringgit each yawwwww!. Food tasted as delicious as it looks. I’ve got nothing else to say. The vegetables were awesome, the meat was flavorful and tender, the Chinese style Mee Hoon was a good replacement for rice, the Indian gravies were rich and filled with spices. It all worked real well, I ate like a pig and I most probably will do so again during my next visit. Burp!
Attention Penang curry mee lovers, you should know that the Kuantan Road Penang curry mee in OUG is now available in PJ too.
All in all, a lunch set that’s value for money and delicious, highly recommended.
Lamb, lobster, dry-aged chicken. These are some of the tempting choices you'd find Joon Dining's Set Lunch...minus the princely sum. The restaurant’s 3 course Set Lunch at RM48++ per person and 4 course for RM60++ per person is a good deal these days.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food here at Joon – with the Izumidai, pasta, and scallops being our favourite dishes, in that order.
The highlight of Sri Nyonya were nasi ulam and perut ikan. Nasi ulam has lot of herbs in it and smelled so fragrant.
The Nasi Ulam was da ‘bomb. It was flavorful, the taste of herbs was evident. I could eat it on its own, without the help of any gravies and etc. The Nasi Ulam was that good. Flavorful and tasty. I can understand why other folks love it too.
Specialising in Asian fusion cuisine, some of the top dishes served here are the Foie Gras Heaven (sushi topped with foie gras) and the Deep Sea Konbu Pasta (Pasta-Italian, Konbu Japanese).
Overall, Nippori Bistro serve great food and the environment is comfortable.
Have had the Wanton Mee here on Oct 16 (2 months ago), but today's plan was for 合順茶餐室 Restoran Hup Soon's Home-made Yong Tao Foo.
Food today: 👍👍😋😋 7/10
One of the better in town is the Home-made Chee Cheong Fun and Yong Tao Foo here at SS3's 合順茶餐室 Restoran Hup Soon
Verdict: Both food that we tried were just average at best, so don’t put too high expectation like me, this Kopitiam still a viable lunch option if you find yourself at this area.
The Kopitiam offers I think around 12 stalls
I was in love with the fried chicken. It was surprisingly tender and juicy. Usually with meat that are fried, they tend to get chewy, the tenderness is most often lost. Here, it is miraculously retained. The out layer of chicken skin was well seasoned with spices. So, when eaten with the curry, the mix of flavors and spices was utterly divine.
