Next dish is something very familiar to those who have travelled to Thailand many times. It's the Pad Thai Kung or Pad Thai Prawn Noodles (RM16.50). The noodles were soft but has a nice chewy texture and the prawns were quite springy. If you have no idea what to order, just order the Pad Thai.

The Pulled Pork Burger comes with coleslaw and fries. The burger was yummy. Most of the pulled pork burgers I’ve had are usually well shredded, the one here comes partly shredded and partly in chunks. It’s no problem though as while it differs in size, the texture was the same. It was a pretty simple burger with burger buns + shredded pork coated in sweet-ish BBQ sauce? + onions but was good. I suppose the simplicity was its appeal.

Cantonese Style Loh See Fun, 8.50 ringgit Ooooo yum! Another yummy dish. I cant say I’ve had this particular dish with this thick of a noodle before. Yes, the noodles are usually short and thick but the ones here were thicker. I liked it, different but niceeee. The dish also came with minced meat, chicken, fried onions, spring onions, egg and etc. The soupy gravy was da bomb. The distinct taste of Chinese wine was more evident here – pleasant and not overwhelming. Yummy.

Besides porridge, there’s rice and noodles on the menu. I do recommend their Cantonese Style Loh See Fun and their signature Mushroom Pork Noodles. The bowl of Cantonese loh see fun may look kinda uninspiring in its pale gooey gravy topped with an egg but once I dug into it, I had to change my mind. That bowl of gooey noodles packed quite a punch in terms of taste and flavours. Try it and you’ll see. Cantonese Style Loh See Fun (RM8.50)

Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Rice at MYR 9.50 nett There are 6 pieces of sweet and sour soy meat. I was surprised to see that there are two parts in one cube of soy meat - the top part is whitish in colour to represent the fatty part of pork and the bottom part has meat-like texture but they are all made from soy. Taste is acceptable but you won't be fooled into thinking that they are meat.

My Nasi Dagang with Gulai Ikan Raja Berangkat @ RM13 was equally delicious. The firm yet fluffy texture of the rice is faultless while the fish lives up to its name – fit for a king. I also had the A.P.A (Apa Pun Ada) drink @ RM3.50 but I found the taste a tad watered down. Refill is only 50 cents though.

Coincidentally I was on the hunt for Sarawak Laksa for the past 2 weeks. My usual fix are at Charlie Cafe, Makan Time and Salted but none of these are near any LRT/MRT stations. Then I read on a FB group that the NZX (Niuzexui) area is being revitalised, or rather, more specifically the NX Food Court Centre. I saw postings about the Penang duck egg char kuey teow, Sarawak kueh chiap, kolo mee and the Sarawak Laksa. And comments were favourable too, so I hopped quickly to try it myself.

Pla Neung Manao, 62 ringgit. This was one of their popular/recommended dishes. It was delicious. The fish was fresh, cooked/steamed well. I loved the tom yum gravy that accompanied the fish, it was thicker than the usual tom yum soup I usually taste around here, which was great, it was spicy with a tinge of sweetness to it. Delicious. If I could change one thing – it would be the fish itself – rather than a snapper, perhaps a Tilapia would have made the dish even better. Other than that, this dish was awesome.

Chicken Sandwich, 15 ringgit. This chicken sandwich was yummy. It was a simple dish – bread + chicken + mayo and a side of salad but it sure was yummy. Unlike many other sandwiches which usually comes with layers of fillings, this one just had 2 – chicken and mayo. Perhaps the mayo was homemade because it sure was out of this world. I literally thought there was some melted cheese in there when there werent but the mayo definitely gave some extra flavors to the whole dish. Yummy!

Char Siew Wan Tan Mee (big), 9.50 ringgit. Between the noodles and the rice, I thought the noodles were better. It was gooood, delicious. The noodles here are slightly thinner than usual, springy. The char siew was tender and juicy, provided the noodles with a lil sweetness. It was good, I’d give this dish a go again.

This Bitter Gourd Noodles were absolutely delicious. In fact, it won't be wrong to say that this is one of the best Bitter Gourd Noodles that I have tasted. The soup itself was so delicious. I was told that it was prepared using some herbs, chicken and anchovies that had been slow boiled for hours. If you're someone who loved bitter gourd, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. 10/10 would be my rating for this dish.

Deluxe RM10.00 Fairly large in portion, it was very affordable considering the luscious ingredients. I opted for bee hoon, but you can choose your preferred noodles from the choice of yellow mee and kuey teow. In my humble opinion, it was one of the best curry noodles I've tasted. The cake was rather unique but only because I’ve never had a carrot cake with pineapple added into the mix. Initially, I thought I’d be getting a mix between sweet and salty tangyness but nope. There were different kinds of sweetness in there, all with just the right amount. Add on the cream cheese on the top, you’d get the distict taste that only a carrot cake would provide. The texture was light, yet dense and moist. A yummy dessert.

Their breakfast sets come with refillable coffee and tea so you may opt for it. For RM9.90, this portion was definitely worth the money. 2 slices of bread, a bratwurst-sized sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon and a luncheon meat medallion. Having this with the mug of coffee was a portion too large for me. Food is of decent quality at decent prices with decent portions making it worth the buck if you're ever in the area and in need of a hearty meal.

We ordered one large Char siew Black Kampua (RM8.50) and one large Char siew White Kampua (RM8.50). The Sitiawan-style black kampua comes with noodles tossed in dark sauce and topped with beansprouts, fried shallots and spring onion as well as thick chunks of glorious char siew.
