We enjoyed the Classic Cheese Beef Burger (RM32) by V88 Starhill – made with house grind Aussie chuck tender for a balanced portion of lean & fat, caramelised onion and yellow cheddar. Patty was juicy with bits of gherkin for a bit of “heat” and the buns were soft and coloured with a shade of red from the addition of beetroot.
I enjoyed my visit to The Alchemy very much and intend to come back again when I’m in a bougie mood. The servers were very attentive and prioritised precision, not expediency. I was very surprised at the prices not being outrageous considering the location. I have absolutely seen cocktails at tacky bars that cost more than the prices here. The drink prices in each category (except whiskies) are satisfyingly round numbers with little differentiation. Cost-conscious individuals like myself aren’t immediately drawn to the cheapest option because there are about twenty premium choices that are all the same price. RM40 for a lovingly prepared cocktail by a friendly and gentle bartender that I get to enjoy in a beautiful, relaxing setting – I’ll happily shell out for that.
Reasons to visit The Alchemy, The Starhill Dining: It was difficult to narrow down the field, but Vesper, Alaska and Bittersweet Symphony were our favourites. If you’re a G&T fiend, ask Johnny and his team to mix up an original scientific exploration just for you.
A must to try and they are absolutely my favourite. The Japanese Bean Curd is being deep fried till perfection with the crispy at the outside texture and the inside brings you with the melts in the mouth sensation. They are indeed superb and every mouthful is delectably delicious!
Reasons to visit Shook! The Starhill Dining: stylish new digs; menu catering to a variety of tastes; Dancing Prawns; grill menu; cocktails from The Alchemy; although wine by the glass is not particularly impressive their vertical collection of Chateau Mouton Rothschild dating back to the 1940s is worth at least a little envy.
Thanks to the friendly staff for recommending this Sup Ekor. So good! A hearty portion of tummy-warming, flavourful oxtail broth, richly seasoned with a bouquet of house spices, topped with celery cress and crispy shallot.
Available every Saturday and Sunday from 3PM to 6PM, enjoy 3-tiers afternoon tea set that put together beautiful, dainty morsels, complimented by your choice of tea/coffee. The Alchemy New Yorker Afternoon Tea is priced at RM160 for two
The main dish from this menu, that we ordered is the Pomfret Steamed with Sour Plums, Tomatoes and Preserved Vegetable 潮州蒸鯧魚. This dish is best eaten with rice as the sauce was just done to perfection.
The staffs’ service is good and the environment is comfortable. Jogoya is definitely one of the top choices for a buffet meal.
The comprehensive spread of authentic Malay dishes includes all-time favourites such as Rendang Daging ‘Tok’, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Nasi Briyani, Sup Ekor and Bubur Lambuk
