More fine dining than bistro. Ingredients fresh and handled well, although I though the flavours of the chicken cordon bleu were a bit too subtle for my less refined palate.
W39 Bistro Foodpanda Delivery review of Nyonya mee siam and Nasi Lemak with Ayam Masak Merah, with pictures of food and restaurant
Overall, we were glad to have discovered the W39 Bistro & Bakery. It is a neighbourhood eatery we would be happy to drop by again when we are in the West Coast / Pandan Loop areas.
Relatively quiet and peaceful, the more inaccessible location actually becomes a boon for those of us who fancy our cafes a bit less bustling all the time. The uncluttered walls, simple but sleek furnishing, high ceiling, natural daylight and ample space truly did feel like I had been transported to a nice cafe overseas.
Simple Cafe is home to some good quality pastries.
The bread was good too, but cake took the, well, cake.
Leaving the best for last, Fredo’s Yuzu Meringue Tart was our favourite of the lot due to its ability to leave a balanced sweet and sour note after every bite.
Fredo’s Bakery - a visit to the new place for beautiful pastries in Sunset Way / Clementi - we try the marble cake and coffee at the cafe ..
While the spiciness of the curried potato is on point without being overly spicy or mild, I find the texture leans more on the mushy side. If only they mixed in some firmer potato cubes for a contrasting texture.
Fong’s Dee Curry Puff only sells potato curry puffs, among some other fried goodies, such as goreng pisang and spring rolls.
Egg Taste is generous with the fillings, although the bread was a little messy to eat.
