We were worried when the first dish was a little off that we might have come to the wrong place. However, the subsequent food was decent to good, and I’m still wondering how I can recreate the Malaysian pizza. I’d be happy to go back, even with the rich variety of dining options in Penang.
The Ultimate Tomahawk Platter seems a must. It came with everything in great proportions – 1.8kg tomahawk steak, rack of lamb, chicken souvlaki, and seabass in lemon basil butter, besides grilled king prawns, and creamy garlic scallops. The steak done just right with its natural juices was heartily enjoyed with the accompanying hummus, tzatziki, potatoes, corn, housemade pita, truffle mushroom cappuccino, sauces, and mix salad.
If Lamb is your thing, the 24 Hour Lamb Shank is quite a charm. the Lamb Shank is meticulously cooked to fork tender, the brown sauce packs a flavorful punch and with the creamy mashed Potatoes; the dish is both a palate-pleaser and a tummy-filler. Meat-free option would include the Cauliflower Steaks, a popular but uncommon vegan dish in Penang. Paprika-seasoned roasted Cauliflower Steaks served with Quinoa and home-made Olive-Tomato condiments. Mish Mash rotates for different craft beer every 2-3 months. Located on Muntri Street, not the busiest street in Georgetown but you will find many tourist and locals still wondering along this street for the food, pubs, and cafes along the street.
Well, we choose Kim Haus Spaghetti Aglio Olio Chicken (RM 22.90) and it did not disappoint. Spaghetti noodles were cooked to al-dente and was seasoned nicely with a hint of spiciness, then garnished with olives. We were surprised to see generous quantity of big chicken cutlets were served. It was great but the entire presentation or experience would have been better if the chickens were cut into smaller slices. Overall it was a great spaghetti.

Sadly, perhaps it was too early into the evening as there were no life music performance yet at that hour (perhaps)! Prices of cocktails here starts at rm$20++ and beyond.
This bar currently top in our list for simple few reasons. Great ambiance, great live band and there are many props for you to play with. Besides that, drinks here are pretty decently price too. Heard my friend mention that cocktail in here are pretty good too which I have yet tried.
Another Mexican staple is the Quesadillas, which is essentially a grilled 10 inch flour tortilla with choice of filling, cheese, jalapenos and pico de gallo. Diners can satisfy their palate with a choice of fillings; ranging from beef, tuna, chicken or mushroom. Enjoy each bite with the accompanying salsa roja for that tangy kick!
Holy Guacamole Taco served great as some bites if you happen to be here for a drinking, as it was crispy and the salsa worked fine with it. Besides, the price is wallet-friendly and 2 serving of the tacos would not hurt your wallet much.

We were amazed by the quality of the 1/2 Roasted Moroccan Chicken... grilled to perfection and the skin was brushed with Balsamic reduction, slightly sweet but with a bitter end (due to the singed skin). The meat was fork-tender and perfectly good on its own but even better to enjoy with Sea Salt or a tangy Thai Green Chili dip.

The Oysters and Scallops are equally great... fresh, plump with minimal seasoning. The taste is pretty direct and straight-forward, the winning factor here is the freshness and the quality of the ingredients. We thought they nailed it.
From the main, it’s all about quality meat – New Zealand lamb stick, pork belly, and Australia beef ribeye. The meat done with intense smoke flavor along with dashes of herbs and spices are really promising. One can easily develop a love affair with these meat.

While traditional Claypot Prawns is served with curry broth, Copper Bar & Restaurant had it served with their very own curry laksa broth, which offers a slight more acidity and citrus flavour. Prawns are fresh, and it was complemented well with the laksa broth.
Australian Short Ribs, 15 hours braised short ribs, roselle glaze, cashew nuts crumb. aubergine puree with buak keluak, roselle beef jus. For this dish, Australian Beef is used but the rest of the ingredients and sauce are Asian style. I love the tenderness of the beef as it has been braised for long hours until soft and juicy.
A group of us opted for several Malaysian specialties and Western dishes such as chicken parmigiana, lamb chop, nachos, calamari rings, and salad.
Even though it was busy this year, Frandy has always had a relaxing vibe. The drinks are pretty good (and strong!), and you can’t beat the view and that’s why I’ve kept coming back. Although with the trajectory it’s on, I’ve got the feeling that next time I try to visit Frandy Beach Bar, it will be too popular, costly and exclusive for me.
龙虎门 "The 12 senses" presents itself as an "Ancient Chinese theme" Cockail-Bar with nightly different life-ban performances starting late at night (I think after 10pm)!
We had Jungle Bird and the De La Cinnamon; both were unique and special in its own ways. The former choice was served with candied Lemon slice, sweetened Pineapple and a stalk of Pandan leaf; the entire combination was refreshing and light on the palate, with a hint of bitter-sensation but with the addition of candied Lemon and juicy Pineapple, the flavor-combination was complex and multi-dimensional. The latter choice was sweeter though we agree that the Whisky flavor was softened but the Kahlua was no where to be discerned, the torched Cinnamon stick acted like a cleanser to clear the senses and prepared us for another sip.
The burnt cheesecake here was more like a New York baked cheesecake (more dense), nevertheless it was still yummy. We got the set which comes with coffee (cake and coffee for RM15.90). A nice place to chill with a cuppa.
Surprise, surprise .. Gala House used to be a one-shop-lot size Cafe but now expended their business into two-shop-lot, where one is for you to enjoy your meal in a more family like setting while the other is a modern bar for you to enjoy your drinks, i find this combination kinda awesome
The chef shared with us that another popular main is creamy chicken since Gala House inception. It gives a rich filling when coupling the fried chicken cutlet with the cream.

Reasons to visit Hanjan Eatery Soju Bar: all the dishes we tried were extremely flavourful, our favourite dishes though were the Japchae, Yangnyeom and Jogae; do be sure to order soju to wash it down and be tempted by a craft cocktail or two – they are very very good.
