Overall Burnin’ Pit’s meat products were good. I wanted to try their percik chicken but we were too stuffed from our order. Everything was so rich and heavy – even the sides were laden with cream and cheese so you can’t eat a lot without feeling jelak. Service was prompt and attentive. 💁 The prices were a little on the high side–

Naughty Babe Dirty Duck - Desa Sri Hartamas Restaurant

42, Jalan 25/70a Desa Sri Hartamas 50480 Kuala Lumpur

We are a casual restaurant with a menu that’s very straight forward (well, you know... the pork and the duck). Our signature Naughty Babe Dirty Duck BBQ Pork Rib is lacquered with homemade barbecue sauce and grilled perfectly for your satisfaction, every time. A qualified Naughty Babe Dirty Duck diner will never forget to spice up our famous BBQ Pork Rib with our "Hot Stuff" - the homemade flaming hot chili sauce, and pairing it with a pint of Tiger Draught or Guinness Draught. To switch things up from the traditional beer and barbecue pairing, replace that beer with a glass of chilled wine, don't tell us you are not the naughty one. Of course, we've naughtily prepared a wide range of wine for your selection. And if you haven't figured it out already, we're a non-halal restaurant.

The piece de resistance here is without a doubt the NBDD BBQ pork Ribs. You can go for the half slab at RM42 or go all out for the full portion at RM78. The ribs are brushed in homemade barbecue sauce and cooked to perfection, on a hot grill. The meat is tender and falls of the bone easily, and the sauce on them is absolutely delicious. Finger licking good, for sure!

Wagyu Beef Soup Rice – RM100 Charcoal grilled Wagyu beef served on top of a bed of rice in a claypot. On the side, with Japanese soup stock of bonito flakes, dried sardine and mackerel flakes poured over. This is heavenly lip smacking. I was taught how to eat this Gyu Kabayaki Hitsumabushi – first we eat the original flavour without adding anything. Then, add in condiments for another taste. Lastly, add in the dashi to the rice. 3 ways of enjoying this rice!

Since there aren't any set menus (for dinner), the prices may seem a little higher for the a la carte orders, so be prepared to fork out around RM100 per person for a meal here. Though prices are on the higher end, I have no complaints and deem it worthy when the meat and seafood is utterly fresh and of such good quality. My only tiny grouse to our otherwise very satisfying dinner was that some of the diners decided to smoke (I'm not sure if that's allowed but none of the staff seem to object) probably thinking that it's ok since there are exhaust hoods to suck up the smoke (luckily so). Overall, we enjoyed our meal tremendously and I would say it's an excellent place to satisfy your craving for some good tasting grilled meats. Coupled with a personal one-on-one service of grilling the meat at tableside, it was brilliant and much welcomed. I'd probably return at some point but not before I've had the chance to try out the other grilled meat joint in the area! ^_~

There are two yakiniku restaurants in Desa Sri Hartamas: KNK (Kannichikan Yakiniku) and Momotalo Yakiniku. Personally, I find both of them equally good but KNK seems to attract more Japanese customers while Momotalo enjoys more patronage from the locals – mainly because it’s pork free. And since Momotalo is pork free, their menu has lesser choices compared to KNK. But that does not take away the fact that their ingredients are fresh and the quality is top notch for the price you pay. Meat options start from RM20 and could go up to RM165 for Kobe beef.

My Personal Opinion In the end, it was a BBQ experience that was just passable, certainly not as good as the one we had at Momotalo, not even KNK. Love their Doenjang Jigge @ RM 18. Soybean paste stew is indeed aromatic, strong in soy bean paste taste, and a bit generous with the ingredient. Kimchi Jjigae @ RM 18 is a classic this where the flavour here is mild sour but slightly more on the spicy side.

A brand that hail all the way from Hong Kong that operates their first outlet in Malaysia with remaining 5 in Hong Kong. I find that the cuisine is a perfect addition to the area which is lacking off. Something like steamboat but it is not. A Little summary would be a cuisine of a cross over of China Sze Chuan in Hong Kong Style.
