Here are a few restaurants in Tanjung Rhu that you can try for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner. All of them are within walking distance from Tanjung Rhu Beach so you can leave the stress of driving behind.
Driving around Langkawi is a very enjoyable experience. Though the roads are small, they are quite smooth and the traffic is seldom too heavy. Most of the places of interest are well connected with tar-sealed roads, and being a small island you are never too far from any where.
When the construction of this guard house started sometime this month, I was wondering of its purpose there. It was setup by Tanjung Rhu Resort at the exit junction of the resort. But, why was it built at the exit junction?
I got the Dash Deluxe Garden room which was pretty spacious at 42m2 and came with a super king bed and 400 thread count cotton linens… So yes, the bed is undeniably cosy and guaranteed me a good sleep… And the resort mascot, the turquoise bunny plushie sits welcomingly in the middle of the bed….
Stayed in a Deluxe Room, with a comfy queen-sized bed, dressing table, TV and a Dash bunny to snuggle with. No bathtubs, but there is a nice shower, a wardrobe with bathrobes + slippers, as well as coffee and tea making facilities
Ew. I would not recommend going to Black Sand Beach. This place doesn’t have anything going for it that tourists would like. The big draw, the black sand, is so uneven that it just makes the beach look worse. Walking here and seeing the volume of disgusting trash on the shore just north of where everyone was swimming was eye-opening. There was no place on Tanjung Rhu Beach that was that bad.
I have finally found my favourite beach, so far, here in Langkawi. It’s called Pantai Kok and I can’t believe I didn’t know about it….only been here 4 months duh!…

Burau Bay or Teluk Burau is a fairly secluded beach in Langkawi. While Burau Bay is regarded as a public beach, the crowd mostly consists of the patrons coming from either Mutiara Burau Bay Resort or Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort. These resorts flank on the opposite ends of Burau Bay.
