Verdict: Food was above average with rather reasonable price tag. Revisit? Yes, if I happen to be at the territory.
PJ Cafe hopping day. Visited Wú Coffee Gallery Kota Damansara, and a plant shop few doors away. Try their dumpling, rice bowl and other Japanese inspired food!
The Tori Nanban Don is basically a chicken rice bowl. The base is made up of soft short grain rice with a drizzle of some sweet-ish sauce and the top is made up of a generous portion of crispy, bonesless chicken with a side of Japanese Mayo, cucumber and tomatoes. The dish was yummy, I enjoyed it.
Price wise, a bit steep, but then again, you pay for the presentation and most importantly, taste! Art is expensive after all! But did I mention, there is no service charge or SST? Definitely making a comeback to try the Tiramisu Ice-Cream Cake and also Earl Grey Chocolate Cake! Oh, and the cute Japanese chicken in tray!
Price : Worthy Services : Excellent Environment : Cozy
Japanese Curry Chicken Rice, 19.90 ringgit. This was delicious. What you’d get in this dish is rice + salad + herbal chicken soup + chicken fillet + Japanese Curry. Loved their Japanese Curry, its texture is similar to that of a Butter Chicken gravy? Thick, slightly sweet and slightly spicy – yup, that was how the Japanese Curry tasted. When you mix that gravy with the rice and chicken fillet – Wowza! Very yummy indeed.
There are still many things we have yet to try at Rolling Daruma x Olfactory Bulb; and I’d like to make a return visit when I’m in the neighbourhood again to try their other items – reviews seem to be stellar for their desserts and coffee.
The environment is very chill and definitely a good place for you to sit down chit chat with your friends.
Lovin' the lounge vibe already. Shady corners, cushioned seats, wooden tables and spotlights, housed within a cozy black interior. I would've never expected a second floor coffee bar to look like this from the outside. Surprise - surprise. They call themselves the coffee mixologist, unfolding an array of OFB signature blends - coffees, cocktails, smoothies, cool quenchers, cold pressed juices, organic teas and I have to tell you about those wonderful waffles

Overall, nice restaurant. Nice food. Bersih. Service pun OK not bad.
Yitcha Kaw Kaw Kopitiam remains popular as a breakfast and lunch spot and I think they will do well as long as they keep up with the good service and food quality. Besides they are located at one of the more busy and bustling spots in Damansara Utama/Uptown.
Hidden in a little known street, in a little knowns suburb is a little gem of a kopitiam that hard to evoke an old world charm. Drive a few rounds only found it.
Iced Caramel Macchiato (RM10.60) Always my favorite! A beautiful combination of an espresso with significant amount of milk. Rich and strong aroma.
Being the first cafe in Klang Valley that operates 24 hours whole day long, Donutes has previously commenced its business in Puchong. Recently, the business is being expanded to Kota Damansara, and there goes the second outlet which situated nearby the mamak shop Kayu.
The Salted Egg Yolk Carbonara (RM 22.90) is a decent choice too. It uses thinner type of spaghetti noodles to allow more surfaces coated by the salted egg yolk and cream. You may be expecting a strong and bold taste of salted egg yolk but surprisingly the taste is rather mild. Mushrooms and cauliflowers were used to top the pasta.
The snack food was all pretty decent though I couldn’t try it all – waffles, duck pate, cheese and mushrooms on toast, chicken ham and tomato. Not pictured was my favourite, mini wraps with egg and hash brown filling.
Vintage Kissa Café is a lovely space for a quiet coffee time with beautiful jazz music in the background. The service here is also warm and thoughtful. The lady-owner was so thoughtful to serve our croffles in two separates plates, so we wouldn’t make a mess and embarasse ourselves.
I ordered the above Iced Peach Tea which was priced at RM 8.00 and it was seriously good. The flavours were awesome and concentrated. Not those watered down versions that you commonly get. My rating for this drink is definitely 9/10.
So far this is what we had tried and we thought that the drinks could be better. Overall, we really like the designed of the outlet.
Tak lama menunggu, Amoi pun sampai...apa lagi terus la kami mengorder makanan...Amoi order Aglio Olio Beef (RM23) yang sedap!pedas juga tapi sedap!aku pula order Classic Chicken Grilled (RM27) yang sedapppp jugak!ayam dia pun juicy gilaaaa...Nyummeh weh lagi smoked creamy brown sauce atas ayam tu sedap!aku suka sangat...hehehehe
Pesto Shrooms RM18 is pretty good, the pasty was silky and the pesto was good, it is well mixed and when it's paired with a variety of mushroom it is just delicious!
Overall, I felt that their food quality and drinks were pretty good. I do hope that some of the food prices can be adjusted to be more on the affordable side in order to attract more patrons to visit this place on a weekly basis.
Eggcited Benedict, With poached eggs, Mushroom, spinach, chicken slices topped with hollandaise sauce.
While the second breakfast set is the Sunny Side Up With Croissant (RM12.90) which is served with Turkey Ham, Croissant, Sunny Side Up, Garden Salad and Peppery Mushroom Sauce.
The ArtCoffee rolls out their offering of All Day Breakfast recently at their outlet at Sunway GIZA in Kota Damansara. Those looking for a quick bite or a hearty meal, can check out The ArtCoffee's All Day Breakfast Sets that comes with an option of either coffee or tea to go with your meal.
As its name suggests, this spacious coffee joint is home to delicious coffee, sandwiches, cakes, pastries, salad and pizza, just to mention a few.
If there is one dish that represents Malaysia and if that particular dish must fit into any meal of the day (all breakfast, lunch and dinner); then it would inevitably be the nasi lemak for sure. And with the celebration of Merdeka and Malaysia day in August and September respectively, we are celebrating it with an assortment of nasi lemak renditions. We have the nasi lemak kukus, nasi lemak bungkus, and even nasi lemak with pork rendang. Fifth palate at Kota Damansara is celebrating patriotism with the national dish itself with the addition of Pork rendang on top of the usual suspects.
Temptation and Satisfying awaits you all in one meal !!
Baked Eggs, 19 ringgit. This was delicious. I loved it. It was a combination of homemade tomato sauce + pork sausage + egg + mozarella cheese, with a side of croissant-like toasted bread. I wanted something not too meaty, not too wheaty and this dish was perfect. Creamy, cheezy, a little meat from the sausages, the taste of the home made tomato sauce was just right, not overwhelming – mix everything up and you will get yourself a yummy dish. The bread, with a croissant like texture was an excellent choice and complimented this dish well. Loved it.
A kids friendly cafe, food are value for money, comfy and relax ambiance. Although there are many choices in that area but Bmon Cafe definitely one of those worthy of your visit.
The Authentic Sarawak Nasi Aruk Ikan Kembung, 12 ringgit. This was da bomb. Finger lickin’ good. I loveeeeeeeed it. I never tasted nasi aruk, dont know what it is but if it tasted anything like it did here, I would gladly have nasi aruk again, lol. Frankly speaking, it tasted like fried rice? and with the half done egg on the top – when you mix it all up, you would get a gooey, moist combo. Then, there is the ikan kembung, cooked in the simple way, similar to when you fry fish at home – simple, yet yummy and crunchy. Some crackers on the side, chili kechup and belacan. What a mouth watering combination. Oooo, the belacan – it isnt like the ones you would find here. The one here is light brown, ( look into the image above, in between the cucumbers, the green leaves salad and the piece of chilli – you would notice a brown ‘tuna’ like thingy, right? That is the one) and while it does taste spicy, it is different but addictive. This was a delicious dish. I would totally order it again and it is just 12 ringgit. Worth it!
Happy Landfill is worth a visit for its eclectic 90s-theme decor, but you might actually find yourself enjoying the cocktails as well.
[Non-halal] A brand new café in Kota Damansara, Restart by Slo serves coffee, kombucha and sourdough. Check out the lovely space.
