The toast was standard – crispy and nice with thick slabs of butter and fragrant kaya. The wanton noodles were qq and black, with the wantons meaty but normal tasting. The Huanghe crossover was like a thick and forward yuan yang. Not bad cafe food, though a bit over-hyped.
Iced coffee (RM 4.90) is fancy and nice. Toast (RM 6) is good, with 2 thick toast (cut into 4). Half boiled egg is done perfectly. The Dry Wanton Noodle (RM 9.20) is harder than the KL version, and..
With the high rating and recommendations in social media, this place is reputable and if you are on a plan visit to Ipoh, it will be a better to visit them earlier and avoid the peak hours.
So yes, I'd totally recommend this place. No wonder everyone loves it here.
他们不在这里供应普通的蛋糕/甜点;共同拥有者妮可非常热衷于糕点和甜点。
Patisserie Boutique is a fresh entry on the row that now contains what looks like the highest concentration of hipster cafĂŠs in Ipoh's Old Town; it tries to bring a ...
Konda Kondi Cafe is a place where you can get gluttonous food for a cheap price considering how much arrives on your plate. They go over the top, and you can never complain that they skimped on a certain ingredient. Some dishes need a little tweaking to be perfect, but you can’t beat the value. Konda Kondi is just shy of the level where I would be a regular if I lived in Ipoh, but I would consider coming back once in a blue moon… maybe on a day where I felt like gaining five pounds after one meal.
Go for their toast if it's your tea time. This won't go wrong.
Verdict: Not many options for beverage and food but it’s a pleasant space (not as crowded as other famous coffee place and it’s air-conditioned ) to seek shelter for an hour or two.
A friend and I ordered this grilled chicken aglio olio.
Hubby and I ordered Lemon Butter Chicken Whole Leg. Hubby and I love the sweet sour sauce that was served with the chicken.
Tried the lunch set, loved the appetizer, hate the main course.
Verdict: If you’re bored of the usual must-eat food such as Dim Sum, curry noodles, bean sprout chicken rice and etc at Ipoh, cafe hopping is a good alternative too!
Waiters were very polite. You just feel very much relax there. Food is awesome.
The 3 of us ordered the above chicken chop set which includes a scoop of ice cream @ RM13.90.
We also ordered the above prawns with crispy noodle to share.
STG Ipoh Oldtown had very friendly service and the feel of the restaurant is classy without being overly expensive. However, the food in their afternoon tea leaves much to be desired. While RM58 is a terrific price for afternoon tea for two pax, the food was mediocre and not even worth that. The savoury fare was especially bad. This high tea set is also very little grub for most people if you share everything equally. I wasn’t particularly hungry when we sat down, but even I still felt unfed and wanted more nibbles when we left. Good thing we were in a food paradise like Ipoh!

I decided to try something else apart from the Roti Telur Goyang at Suhaimi Cafe. I ordered Roti Benggali with curry chicken. The curry is good, seasoned perfectly but I’m surprised at the chicken. It’s all tender chicken meat that just breaks apart easily. Barely any bones. So for RM5, it’s definitely worth it. And I thought I wouldn’t get full from just eating bread. I was wrong. Now that’s what I call a damn good breakfast.
Reasons to visit Happy 8 Café Ipoh: healthy, balanced meal options; charming setting; coffee and cake; if you welcome a chat from the barista, order the Signature “Ni Hao” and bring a little happiness to the moment.
Very nice wall and ceiling at the cafe.
We went in not to sample the food but more of curiosity and also for taking photos. There were many like us just taking snapshots here and there.
The Old Town Kopitiam is located on Jalan Tun Sambanthan in Ipoh old town and near to Padang Ipoh . This Old Town Kopitiam is beautifully located inside a renovated pre-war shop house . Its exterior has been repainted while the internal is tastefully decorated with charming fixtures that really bring back the memory of the good old times .
Reasons to visit Jln Theatre Coffee Ipoh: one of the few speciality coffee cafes in Ipoh; calming, minimalist setting; must try the Black Fudge Brownie.
A popular dish in Ipoh is the mushroom sauce chee cheong fun (rice rolls). The version at Lim Ko Pi came with a side of bean curd stuffed with fish paste and deep fried. They gave a lot of minced meat but there wasn’t enough sauce so the result was pretty dry.
Twelve Spice Chicken (half) with rice and egg - RM 19.90 This was a bit too dry for me because there was no gravy for the rice.
2 girls ordered Cheesy Hawaiian Chicken x 2 = RM 53.80 (Grilled chicken in creamy passion fruit sauce, served with veg & potato)
Overall, everything is okay la. I just had too high of an expectation.
Reasons to visit Little Allegra Bakery, Ipoh: cosy neighbourhood café with inspiring artistic touches; excellent baked goods; Padre Coffee.
Mix Grill with black pepper sauce @ RM 36.90
Everything so salty. Okay la not everything since I only tried two things, but my friend came before and did say don't get my hopes up. So it's true. So err nahhh.
As for the Malaysian delights, they do have the Blue Pea Flower Rice Rendang. The Blue Pea flower rice rendang rice are beautifully served to our table. Instead of using white rice, they use Blue Pea instead where Blue Pea flower promotes many health benefits which includes lower risk of infections, and is great for your heart health, revitalized your brain and also having the beauty feature as well.
I asked for their special and I was recommended the above Bao Loh Fun which is noodle (lai fun) with minced chicken meat, peanut, sliced carrot, Chinese pickled vegetable and sauce. To add more oomph to the noodle, I added the chili sambal to the noodle. You can't get this unique and tasty noodle elsewhere.
A piece of House Quiche.
