USJ21's 鴻豐 Hoong Foong Dim Sum (have been here since 1999, more than 20 years now), is no slouch; perhaps still have its own regular customers (fan base).
Dim Sum prices are still at rm$5 - rm$12 per plate, with average prices around rm$6/plate, generally considered reasonable and affordable.
Both 上汤竹笙券 Bambo Fungi roll & 上湯蝦球 Supreme soup Prawn ball sampled today are definitely worth ordering!
If you are a fan of grilled and roasted meat, man do I have a place for you to sink your teeth in.
Today's Charsiew and Siewyoke wasn't prefect; I'd prefer the Roasted duck with rice.
Definitely not disappointed on the 2nd sampling on the same combination.
Although expensive, the bowl does come with quite a few good pieces of tender pork rib.
Prices of food in generally does seem a little pricier than anywhere else in Malaysia (maybe JB is also expensive)
We ordered two variations to this Prawn Mee, one that comes with Pai Kuat and that was priced at RM 16.90 and the other one that comes with large Prawns and this was priced at RM 18.00 . Overall, the portions were huge and they were generous with the ingredients. The broth was again perfect and I feel that this can be a strong contender to the famous Prawn Mee outlet in Taman Kok Lian, Ipoh Road. My rating for this dish shall be 9/10
Also sampled their "香脆虾饼 Crispy Prawn Cake". Conclusion, soup was plain and in generally fish products not too impressive.
AK Noodles Station specializes in fish balls; and prides itself for its fish balls without preservatives.
Our AK Noodles journey starts with “Fresh Prawn Fishball Soup Dried Noodles” RM15.94 featuring dried spinach noodles serves with a separate bowl of seafood soup consists of prawn, fish ball, tofu fish roll and some veggies. Overall taste is considered so-so that left us nothing much to shout about since it was just some normal “MSG” soup base, ingredient-wise was very fresh especially three pieces of XL sized prawn that pretty much covers the price for the meal.
Rumours has it that "Porridge Time" at Main Place wasn't doing great lately due to lesser customers and stiff competition of other neighbouring food choices at LG Floor of Main Place.
Both noodles and porridge here are average; but the Hakka Pork Noodle and their fish ball/fish cake are not bad.
If you are in for porridge, the mee and chicken porridge here may not be a good choice! stick to their pork-based porridge.
In USJ area, the cost of a plate can be from rm$5 to rm$12+ depending on what the customer put on the plate or "take-away box"!
Today, I am trying the street food "Sarawak Tomato Kuey Teow" which is very much like Cantonese Fried Kuey Teow (Wat-tan-hor) but it comes with a twiest as the Kuey Teow is flooded in a sea of sweet tomato+eggy gravy. I think like the Kampua Mee, Kolo Mee, this dish is another common dish for Sarawakians. It is an interesting dish!
Homely and honest, the food here needs a special mention.
Definitely a restaurant worth visit.
