Overall, I have eaten at Ah Orh at least 3 to 4 times over the years and I do notice that in my recent visit, the standard of the dishes is not on par with previous years.
Ah Orh Teochew Food Delivery / Takeaway
Very fat, creamy, salty and fresh oysters, on top of a fragrant and unoily egg omelette.
In Singapore, Fatty Cheong at ABC Market is synonymous with "bu jian tian" 不见天 char siew to go with their egg noodles or plain rice.
There are 2 stalls by the same name in this food centre by the same owner, the original stall is to focus on roasted meat and the newer stal...
The char siew was nice.
By Chef Pang Kok Keong. Oily and fragrant, nicely cooked chewy noodles and umami meat filled yong tau foo.
Very soon, you will be able to enjoy grilled seafood at night as Hakka Pang will switch to a ‘seafood shack’ concept called Guppies. Expect a variety of grilled fish and seafood served with different dips.
Pang’s Hakka Noodles, Yong Tau Foo and Fishballs at The Sprout Hub (on the ground of the former Henderson Secondary School).
Look no further than Ar Er Soup 阿2老火汤 , the proud recipient of the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand Award, nestled within the bustling ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre.
Apparently each outlet handles their soups a bit differently, and this wasn't the one that Michelin blessed. But I liked it.
Popular soups are sold out early, so it is advisable to turn up before the peak meal times.
The noodles were slightly clumpy but the sauce was fragrant savoury and slightly sweet, lifting the noodles. The wantons was nicely marinated and fragrant and a decent sized orb, with smooth skin, but the char siew was again a tough and papery piece.
This wanton noodle is decent but I would not go all the way there for it. However, I do not mind having it if I am in the neighborhood. I would probably just tell the auntie to omit the black sauce.
I'm still missing this place once in a while for it has brought me memories of the past. No doubt that the taste might be simple and bare basic for others, I felt that I still prefer the such old-school taste from time to time.
What I didn’t tell them was that in a market flooded with factory-made fish balls, $0.60 for authenticity is a steal.
Well, first time visitors to the stall take heed. Do your homework and find out how the stall operates if you do not want to incur the wrath of the lady boss.
Yong kee famous fishball noodle at ABC Market is famous for a good reason. With a history stretching 24 years, the hardworking husband-and-wife team running the stall sure have perfected their recipe for their bestselling fishball noodle. Don’t let this humble dish fool you – it packs a punch! The...

Firm and springy noodles in a nice bowl with somehow Japanese or miso flavour. Not bad.
There are hits and misses here and there is definitely room for improvement but it is not all that bad. If you are on a budget and looking for something easy on the pocket yet filling for the stomach, this is a good option however, if you are more particular about your food, you might want to look elsewhere.
Named Leng Kee Fish Soup (龍記), the sliced fish soup holds the familiar taste I know from Bukit Timah.
The wait for their famous claypot rice was long, but the delicious rice was definitely worth the wait. Such a satisfying dinner, I will be back!
Do come before 9am to avoid being disappointed like I was on my first visit!
ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre is a hidden gem known as Zhen De Hao 蒸得好. This hawker stall is dedicated to serving up authentic steamed delicacies that will warm your soul.
I was asked whether i want to have minced garlic added and as for the chilli sauce as well as vinegar and red cut chillies are available for self-service. Apparently, it seemed to be a little different in taste, the gravy seemed lighter and not as gooey. Or, perhaps, i might have tried other better Lor Mee thus i did not find it as good as it used to be. It is still a comforting taste nonetheless.
what makes this hokkien mee so special that people are willing to queue for a taste of it? You’re about to find out…
Hosay Mee Pok’s seafood mee pok is like an upgraded version of my favourite childhood hawker food as the addition of scallops and clams certainly gave the classic dish a slightly atas touch.
There are also desserts available at Momo Kitchen. Pauline’s cousin, Xavier, is a trained pastry chef from Le Cordon Bleu. He came up with an excellent 8 treasures cheng tng, Peranakan pannacotta and earl grey dark chocolate loaf cake.
