One of the best, if not the best curry rice in Singapore, Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice is something that you have to try at least once in your lifetime. Queues start to form very early, and the popular dishes do tend to sell out fast! So, come early to get your hands on a plate of messy goodness!
Hainanese Curry Rice in Singapore, check out Loo’s if you are in Tiong Bahru which will not disapppoint.

Keng Eng Kee opened a new outlet in 2022 at SAFRA Tampines. With the restaurant in the East and the zi char restaurants in West Singapore, they have the whole Singapore covered.
Keng Eng Kee (KEK) Seafood is considered one of the best in Singapore, and for my son’s birthday we went here.
We enjoyed the Samsui chicken at Keng Eng Kee. Tender juicy sweet poached free range chicken eaten with mild grated ginger wrapped in crunchy lettuce.
Overall, I have eaten at Ah Orh at least 3 to 4 times over the years and I do notice that in my recent visit, the standard of the dishes is not on par with previous years.
Ah Orh Teochew Food Delivery / Takeaway
Very fat, creamy, salty and fresh oysters, on top of a fragrant and unoily egg omelette.
Seafood Paradise has to be one of my favorite Chinese seafood restaurant in the whole of Singapore. With hearty portions that is value for the quality, Seafood Paradise seeks to marry both traditional and modern Chinese techniques found in many types of Chinese cuisine, such as Cantonese, Teochew, and Hokkien.

The food at Seafood Paradise is enjoyable and I can see myself coming here for family gatherings.
In Singapore, Fatty Cheong at ABC Market is synonymous with "bu jian tian" 不见天 char siew to go with their egg noodles or plain rice.
There are 2 stalls by the same name in this food centre by the same owner, the original stall is to focus on roasted meat and the newer stal...
The char siew was nice.
This is arguably one of the best Char Kway Teow and it's really a classic. The uncle has been plying his trade for decades with more of the time being a one-man show. I won't say it's the best but it's definitely one of the better ones in this trade.
The fact that Uncle fries every single plate and packet on their own, the consistency is a little different plate to plate and packet to packet. The basic wok hei ( heat of the wok) is definitely still good in the noodles giving it a nice charred aroma.
The uncle was methodical, frying each plate one by one. His stall was really clean and neat too. But the queue seemed to have grown from when I remembered it. I think I waited for 30 to 40 minutes.
First things, first. The soup, and it was very good, in that it was the real deal.
Their sum lou hor fun has always been a favourite. I don't know if they're the better ones around these days but their rendition is still pretty tasty.
They lived up to our expectations in terms of the flavours of their food and it is not surprising to see a huge crowd patronising their restaurant during peak hours.
Really smooth fish balls and fish paste, spongy fried beancurd, and generally very simple and serviceable yong tau foo. Tasty and moist fishcake. Nice and light.
in Tiong Bahru Yong Tao Hu we get good traditional foods - Yong Tao Hu, of Hakka origin, Hainanese Kaya Toast and Teochew Bak Chor Mee.
For a good bowl of Yong Tao Hu, this stall is a must try, despite the fact that there are so many other food options in Tiong Bahru.
Por Kee Eating House for Traditional & Delicious Cze Char Dishes.
i think i only came this place once like 20+ to 30yrs ago. it is certainly a well known and popular zi char place.
The overall standards at Por Kee is above average for sure. If you are looking for a good zi char place that is centrally located, Por Kee makes a good option and is worth a try.
This was really a neighbourhood zi char. The bee hoon had good moistness, wok hei and flavour – I slurped it all up in double quick time. Pity about what seemed like canned pork trotters though.
Some kailan stir fried with garlic for our dietary fibres. I liked that it was sufficiently salted and there were both bits of deep fried garlic and thin sliced stir fried garlic in there.
I have a feeling I would go right back to these three because they’re just that good. 10/10 would come back again!
Experience the flavors of Spain in the heart of Singapore at Tapas Club VivoCity – where authentic Spanish cuisine meets vibrant dining ambiance.
The suckling pig was a bit too porky though with skin that could be more crispy, the paella a bit too wet, and the creme brulee a bit too dense and sweet. A mixed meal of sorts.
Overall we were happy with the food at the relatively new Tapas Club Vivo City outlet (it is not the newest, that honour goes to the one that just opened at the Jewel in Changi Airport).
By Chef Pang Kok Keong. Oily and fragrant, nicely cooked chewy noodles and umami meat filled yong tau foo.
Very soon, you will be able to enjoy grilled seafood at night as Hakka Pang will switch to a ‘seafood shack’ concept called Guppies. Expect a variety of grilled fish and seafood served with different dips.
Pang’s Hakka Noodles, Yong Tau Foo and Fishballs at The Sprout Hub (on the ground of the former Henderson Secondary School).
Overall, the service at Yi Qian was good and the atmosphere was very nice and comfortable but in terms of dishes, there were some hits and misses and I do think the Teochew styled dishes are somewhat better although the Chef came from Hong Kong
This is a good place to bring parents or business associates if they enjoy classic Cantonese/Teochew cuisine in a comfortable setting.
Yi Qian Private Dining Review new Teochew Cantonese Chinese restaurant at Thye Hong Building Leng Kee Road Singapore
An institution in Singapore, Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant near Harbourfront closes down after 43 years due to the Covid-19 situation.
Their siew mai has the tail of the prawns they used sticking out. Tasted old school and decently made.
Overall, this grand old dame should not be dismissed easily.
Peony Jade Keppel Club, one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Singapore, reopens in Tanjong Pagar as Peony Jade Amara.
The Peony Jade’s Ala Carte Cantonese Dinner Buffet offers endless of variety for whatever you crave.
The Peony Jade’s Ala Carte Cantonese Dinner Buffet offers endless of variety for whatever you crave. It is indeed the best choice in town for family gatherings or a celebration for special occasions.
No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow,, one of the Best CKT you should try.
There are a lot of ingredients and certainly wok hei. It’s not as oily and greasy as other places.
One of the reasons to visit Zion Riverside Food Centre is the char kway teow of No.18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow. The Zion Road food centre is closed for renovations but fans of No.18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow can still get their fix at Chinatown Complex Food Centre.
Overall, the food is not fantastic but it is generally ok for meals on a budget. Some of the items are still pretty palatable. The prices are pocket friendly and the atmosphere is quite relaxing for a meal
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
Da Xi in Vivo City was our destination for lunch and the menu was quite interesting. A mix of dumplings and Taiwanese staples were on the menu. We went for Smoked Duck Dumplings. These had an inter…
I would definitely return for their shrimp wontons, and I wish they sold frozen ones so I could have them whenever I like.
Although this stall specializes in soya sauce chicken, it is their sui kow and soup that impresses me more.
I enjoyed the Shrimp Dumpling though.
Again not a bad fried rice, fluffy and moist, with a good eggy flavour. The taste was of the fried rice was a bit monotonous though – I couldn’t finish all of it. The prawns were nice and bouncy and sweet, but the pork chop was a tad salty, with a bit of a one dimensional flavour, although tender.
Tucked away in Beo Crescent Food Centre, Chef Wang Fried Rice serves up delicious plates of egg and sambal fried rice with a twist!
A dish at Din Tai Fung that’s universally loved is their egg fried rice—made better if it’s topped with shrimps or a pork cutlet, doubly so if you can get it for cheap.
Exquisite dim sum in a grandiose luxurious ambiance inspired by the heydays of grand Shanghai.
I must say, the gift box for the rice dumplings was rather nice. Elegant and stylish in lovely green. Quite sturdy too!
餐馆经过几个月装修后重新开张,色系从原本的暗红色改成比较明亮的米白色与绿色,整体感觉更加年轻明快。
